Additional Persecution News from China – September 26, 2022 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Yanmei Taken Into Custody Again

Around mid-2021, Ms. Dong Yanmei left home after the police in Liaoyang City harassed her in her rented home. The Liaoyang police arrested her on April 14, 2022 after tracking her down and following her. She has been held in the Liaoyang County Detention Center. Due to the pandemic, she was quarantined for 28 days, during which time no one could visit her or send her anything. It was reported that she was transferred to the Liaoyang City Detention Center after being quarantined.

Ms. Dong has been persecuted several times for her belief in Falun Dafa. She was arrested at home in January 2002. After four months of detention, she was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Hongwei District Court and held in the Dabei Prison.

On April 28, 2013, Ms. Dong was arrested by the Xinhua Police Station in the Baita District when she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts CDs. She was taken to the Liaoyang City Detention Center by officers from the Baita District Domestic Security Division. After being sentenced to four years and six months in prison, she was held in the No. 5 Ward of the Provincial Women’s Prison, where she was forced to take medicine, suffered damage to her nervous system, and could not think clearly.

2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Jinman and Ms. Wang Songxia Face Trial

Mr. Zhang Jinman and Ms. Wang Songxia were arrested by officers from the Jiangtan Road Police Station while delivering information about Falun Gong in May 2022. The two practitioners each paid a fine of 3,000 yuan and went home on bail.

On September 13, 2022, the police station delivered a “Notice of Transferring Case Files for Prosecution,” to them and their cases were sent to the Weibin District Procuratorate for review and prosecution.

3. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners and a Family Member Arrested

Officers from the Huining Township Police Station in Xindu District went to Xinanzhuang Village and arrested Ms. Wang Sanni at 7 a.m. on September 25, 2022. They also arrested Xiaoying, Ms. Liying, Ms. Liu Xizhen, and Mr. Haigen’s non-practitioner wife in Koutou Village. Haigen was not at home. Further details are not yet available.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Li Zhiguo, an officer from the Chengguan Police Station in Qianxi County, and others, went to the family quarters of the No. 2 Middle School in the county on September 19, 2022. They knocked on the door of Ms. Zhao Yanmin and asked her to sign paperwork, which she refused.

On September 23, Li Zhiguo and three other officers went to the family quarters of the Party School to harass Ms. Zhang Weizhi and Ms. Guan Meirong. The two practitioners were not at home. Around that time, the officers also harassed Mr. Chuai Zhiwu, who operated a store in Chengguan Town, and Ms. Fu Cuiyun, who lived in a rented house. The officers demanded to meet with Mr. Chuai and Ms. Fu, take pictures of them, and have them sign paperwork.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hong Held in Detention Center

Ms. Li Hong was arrested on September 9, 2022. She was held in the Jing’an District Detention Center. Her family hired a lawyer to meet with her, but the detention center told the lawyer that no meeting would be allowed in the first 14 days on the grounds of quarantine measures during the pandemic.

6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang Detained

Ms. Yan Shufang was arrested by officers from the Dongchang District Domestic Security Division at noon on September 22, 2022. She is being held in the Changliu Detention Center.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Guo Ruihong Held in Detention Center

Ms. Guo Ruihong distributed truth-clarification materials in the Hanyang District on May 14, 2022. A man photographed her, posted the pictures on the community website, and then called the police.

Two months later, on July 13, Ms. Guo was arrested at home. On the same day, her husband Mr. Mao was arrested by seven officers at his workplace. The officers took Mr. Mao to their rented home to search the place. They confiscated a computer and a printer.

Mr. Mao was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center in Hanyang District. Due to a serious illness, he was taken to the hospital by the brainwashing center staff. The doctor said his life was in imminent danger. Mr. Mao was taken home and has been placed under surveillance. Ms. Guo is still being held at Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Fu Xiaohong Arrested in Her Daughter’s Home

Seven or eight people broke into the home of Ms. Fu Xiaohong’s daughter in the Tongnan District, ransacked the place, and confiscated over 10 Falun Gong books. Ms. Fu was arrested. She was brought back home by her son-in-law that night.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chi Arrested

Ms. Chi’s son from the Pulandian District received a call from a neighbor downstairs on September 25, 2022, and came home to find his mother arrested.

10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xueyan Arrested

At 11 a.m. on September 24, 2022, officers from the Lianzhou Town Police Station, led by Nanshangzhuang Village Committee members, went to Ms. Zhang Xueyan’s home. No one was at home at the time.

On November 3, 2021, Ms. Zhang was arrested by officers from the Meihua Town Police Station in Gaocheng District for talking to people about Falun Gong. Party secretary Zhao Yong and members of the village committee led officers to pry open the door of her home. They ransacked the place and confiscated her computer and Falun Gong books.

11. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xueying Harassed

Elderly Ms. Zhang Xueying from Hongshan Town was caught on surveillance cameras when she talked to people about Falun Gong and was subsequently arrested in 2021. She was released after her family was forced to pay 2,000 yuan.

For about a year, Ms. Zhang has been constantly harassed and intimidated by officers from the Hongshan Town Police Station and members of the Zhongxian Community Management Office. As a result of the constant pressure she developed serious illness symptoms.

A few days ago, the Longquan Police Station in Zichuan District inserted a summons card through her door and asked her to go to the police station to answer questions. Ms. Zhang has now left home in or to avoid being persecuted.

12. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Yu’e Harassed

Three officers from the Gepu Police Station broke into Ms. Xiong Yu’e’s home on September 20, 2022. They asked Ms. Xiong to just practice the exercises at home and not go out and talk about Falun Gong, post or distribute Falun Gong materials, or contact other practitioners. They photographed Ms. Xiong and left.

13. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Qingju Held in Detention Center

Six practitioners in Bajiazi Town were detained around the 70^th anniversary of the founding of Yanbian Prefecture on September 3, 2022. Five of them have since returned home. Ms. Sun Qingju was taken to the Dunhua City Detention Center.

14. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Xiufeng Arrested

Two officers from the Huangwu Police Station in Zhifu District broke into Ms. Song Xiufeng’s home and arrested her on July 18, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books and personal belongings. She was released that day.
