Additional Persecution News from China – October 12, 2022 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 34 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Jin Weifeng Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Jin Weifeng was arrested at home by officers from the Dongting Police Station on the morning of December 16, 2020. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Dafa books, a computer, and other personal belongings. Mr. Jin was taken to the Qingling Detention Center the next day and has been held there since. His family has not been allowed to visit him.

It was learned recently that Mr. Jin was sentenced to three years in prison and had been transferred to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province on May 16, 2022.

2. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Fengying and Ms. Zheng from Wulian County were arrested when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of October 10, 2022. The police ransacked Ms. Li’s home and arrested another practitioner from Weifang City, who was staying there.

3. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Lifeng and Her Daughter Li Yawen Arrested

Ms. Wang Lifeng and her daughter Ms. Li Yawen were arrested by officers from the Economic and Technological Development District Police Department at 7 a.m. on September 21, 2022. Their home was ransacked. Dafa books and an iPad were confiscated. It is not known where they are being held.

4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners were arrested on August 16, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Anshan Town Market, Changli County.

5. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Dawu, his wife Ms. Wu Xiangbing, and Ms. Fang Yujuan were arrested on September 26, 2022. The police found, via surveillance cameras, that Ms. Jin Meihua had been to Mr. Wang’s home. They arrested her on the morning of September 28.

Mr. Wang has been held in the Gongshu District Detention Center since then.

6. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Harassed

Three or four officers from the Doudian Police Station, Fangshan District went to harass Ms. Wang Xiuqin, Mr. Mao Guisen and his wife Ms. Chen Ying on September 26, 2022. They took photos and warned the practitioners not to go out to talk to people about Falun Gong.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Teng Xiuxue Harassed

Five officers from the Lingshui Police Station went to Teng Xiuxue’s home on October 7, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated Dafa books and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. Teng was taken to the police station for interrogation. The police went to harass Teng again on October 9.

8. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Huanghe Road Police Station in the Huaxi District, and local community staff members went to harass several practitioners including Ms. Jin, Ms. Zhang, Ms. Zheng, and Ms. Wang on October 7, 2022.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] He Qinghua Arrested

Five police officers went to He Qinghua’s home in the Huashan Sub-district on August 20, 2022. He jumped from the second floor and broke his leg and a rib trying to escape, but was arrested.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pu Harassed

Ms. Pu, over 70, lives in Changxin Village, Wukeshu Town with her daughter. Several officers, including the head of Wukeshu Police Station, went to her home on September 28, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated anything related to Falun Gong.

11. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Xuezhen Sentenced

Ms. Wang Xuezhen, over 80, was photographed and reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying CDs in the pedestrian street of Meishan City on May 17, 2021. She was arrested and later released. Her case was submitted to the Dongpo District Procuratorate in November 2021. She was informed that she would be tried in September 2022.

Ms. Wang was sentenced to 10 months probation by the Dongpo District Court in early September. She was ordered to report to the local police station once a month.

12. [Quzhou County, Hebei Province] Luo Sheping’s Home Ransacked

Four officers, including Zhang Zhigang from the Henantuan Town Police Station, went to Luo Sheping’s home on June 17, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a media player.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Yang Jianmei Arrested

Yang Jianmei was arrested at home by Zeng Gang from the Xipu Town 610 Office, and officers from the Huadu Road Police Station in Xipu, on the morning of October 10, 2022. Yang was taken to the Xiaoyuanlu Police Station in Xipu, Pidu District that afternoon.

14. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Hualian Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Li Hualian from Yiyuan County was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in August 2022. She is being held in the Zhangdian Detention Center.

15. [Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Tong Jinping, Ms. Tong Yinping and Mr. Li Yilong were arrested at home around 5 a.m. on June 16, 2022, and refused to cooperate with the police. Mr. Li and Ms. Tong Yinping were not admitted to the detention center because they failed the physical exam, and were released two days later on bail, pending trial.

Xiong from the Ruichang City Police Department and officers from the Yongquan Township Police Station in Chaisang District, Jiujiang District, went to the home’s of Mr. Li and Ms. Tong Yingping on October 8. The practitioners were summoned to report to Yongxiu County Court.
