Additional Persecution News from China – October 5, 2022 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Yunchun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Yunchun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Yang Yunchun lives in Miaoshang Village, Lanshan District, Linyi City. She was arrested in May 2022 and was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Lanshan District Court in July 2022.

2. [Chongqing] Chen Suqiong and Dai Yunhui Arrested

Chen Suqiong (gender unknown) from Guxi Town of Tongnan District and Dai Yunhui from Moxi Town of Shuining City were arrested in Shuangjiang Town on September 11, 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Chen Suqiong was detained for 15 days in the Tongnan District Detention Center and was released on September 25, 2022. Dai Yunhui’s situation is unknown.

3. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners Detained

Four practitioners are currently detained in the Yongchuan District Detention Center including Dai Xianming, Dai Dakui, Xu Xiaoqin, and Luo Mingyou.

Dai Xianming, Dai Dakui and Luo Mingyou were taken to the detention center around April 2021. Luo Mingyou was transferred to the Huayansi Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District in 2022.

4. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jian Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jian was arrested at home by officers from the Yong’an Police Station on the evening of September 21, 2022. He is detained in the Tongshan County Detention House.

5. [Songzi City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

At least four practitioners in the Xinjiangkou Sub-district including Fu Zhen, Hu Guorong and Wang Xingqiong, have been harassed since late September 2022. Community staff members and local police officers went to their homes and took photos.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Luo Taiqing Arrested and Detained

Ms. Luo Taiqing, over 60, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2020 for distributing truth-clarifying materials. The term was executed outside of prison because of her physical condition. Officers from the Baisha Town Police Station in the Jiangjin District ransacked Ms. Luo’s home on August 10, 2022. Ms. Luo was arrested and taken to a detention center.

7. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Youqing Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wu Youqing was arrested when she was outside on the evening of September 26, 2022. She was placed under criminal detention and is detained in the Xinyi City Detention Center.

8. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hu Guoxiu from the Shunqing District was reported to police and was arrested in the Biguiyuan Community, Jialing District on September 20, 2022. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings including her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Hu is detained in the Nanchong City Detention Center.

Ms. Lin Junhui and Ms. Li Yuhua from the Shunqing District were arrested at home on September 20, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated tens of thousands of yuan in cash from Ms. Li Yuhua’s home. Ms. Li’s husband was also arrested. He was released later that day. Both practitioners are detained in the Nanchong Detention Center.

9. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Xianyang Police Department, Gan County Police Department, and the Liquan County Police Department, arrested five practitioners from Liquan County including Zhang Tao, Li Jing, Wang Nan, Li Xianghong and Xiao Yan.

About 15 to 20 officers went to Li Xianghong’s clothing store on September 30, 2022. They confiscated many Falun Gong books. Wang Nan was arrested when he returned to the store after delivering goods.

The officers went to Li Jing’s store and searched it. Zhang Tao was arrested in the parking lot.

10. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Huayang Arrested

Mr. Wang Huayang was placed under official arrest by the Zhaoyuan Procuratorate on September 23, 2022.

11. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ma Yonglan Harassed

People from the Anshun Community Office went to Ms. Ma Yonglan’s home on August 9, 2022. They pressured her to sign some forms, but she refused to cooperate. When they took her Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder from the bookshelf, Ms. Ma tried to stop them. Two men pressed her down on the sofa and one of them poured water on her face.
