(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 37 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zang Hongyan Arrested

Ms. Zang Hongyan, 71, was arrested at home by officers from the Changjiu Road Police Station on September 16, 2022. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zang’s family was informed on October 1, 2022 that Ms. Zang was placed under official arrest and has been detained in the “Supervision Center.”

2. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Yuchang Detained

Ms. Cai Yuchang, 70, lives in Pengzhong Village, Waisha Sub-district, Longhu District. She was transferred from the Shantou City Detention Center to the Guangdong Women’s Prison around September 30, 2022.

3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Lin Jianping Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Lin Jianping, 60, was arrested on February 6, 2022 for talking to a police officer about Falun Gong in front of the Qixia Police Department. After the Muping Detention Center refused to accept her she was placed under a 6-month residential surveillance.

Ms. Lin’s case was submitted to the Qixia City Procuratorate six months later. She was summoned to go to the procuratorate on September 29, 2022.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang and her guest Ms. Xiaoli were arrested at Ms. Zhang’s home in the Railway Community on September 27, 2022. The police confiscated many Falun Gong books and a computer. That evening the practitioners were released on bail pending trial.

Mr. Zhao Xudong, 77, and Ms. Zhao Guokun from the Mamian Community were arrested on September 27, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. Many Falun Gong books, computers and printers were confiscated. That evening Ms. Zhao Guokun was released on bail pending trial.

Ms. Zhao Guokun was arrested again on the afternoon of September 29, 2022 and has been detained in the Shulan Detention Center. Her father in his 80s was arrested as well and was later released for medical treatment. Her older brother Mr. Zhao Guoxing who was imprisoned for years because he practiced Falun Gong, was also harassed.

5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Tried in Court

Four practitioners including Ms. Sun Shufen, Ms. Qu Zhiyan and Ms. Zhang Liping, were tried by the Shulan City Court on September 6, 2022.

6. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Demei Harassed

Three officers from the Jingzhi Town Police Station went to Ms. Hu Demei’s home on the morning of September 17, 2022. Only Ms. Hu’s daughter and her niece were there. The police confiscated some Falun Gong books and forced her daughter to sign a letter stating the books were handed over voluntarily. Ms. Hu’s husband received a harassing call later and was pressured to send them a recent photo of Ms. Hu.

7. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhifen Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Li Zhifen was arrested by officers from the Gucheng Police Station at 5 p.m. on August 14, 2022 and was taken to the Huludao City Detention Center. She was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 2000 yuan by the Xingcheng Court on September 27, 2022.

Ms. Li was previously sentenced to three years of forced labor on February 4, 2004. She was arrested on August 25, 2013 and was detained until she was released on bail pending trial on September 30, 2013. Her case was submitted to the court by the Xingcheng City Procuratorate on June 5, 2014. Ms. Li had to leave her home to avoid further persecution and stayed away for years. She was put on the CCP’s wanted list.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Xuhong Arrested

Ms. Guo Xuhong from Faku County was arrested at another place on the evening of September 28, 2022.

9. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xian and Mr. Wang Zhishan Arrested

Mr. Zhang Xiao and Mr. Wang Zhishan from Xianghe County were arrested at their homes on September 28, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wang’s wife, who is a non-practitioner, was also arrested. She has been released.

10. [Shanghai] Six Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners from the Pudong New District including Zhang, Cao and Deng, were arrested by officers from the Gu Road Police Station on September 14, 2022. They were released that evening. The four practitioners routinely meet to read the Falun Gong teachings. Three of them were summoned to the police station on September 17, 2022. Deng was placed under 10-day detention. The other two in their 70s were placed under residential surveillance.

Ms. Gu Baozhen was arrested and was threatened with being held in custody.

Ms. Zhao Chuanmei from Chuansha was arrested and was released on bail pending trial for one year.

11. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Cui Xiaoping Harassed

Cui Xiaoping (gender unknown) was harassed at the workplace by the director of the Social Management Bureau of Gaoxin District, local police officers and staff members of the local sub-district office on the morning of September 19, 2022. Cui was pressured to sign the three statements, which Cui refused.

Two officers from the Gu Police Station went to Cui’s home on the evening of September 30, 2022. They photographed around.

12. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Pianqu Police Station harassed three practitioners including Wang Yaping and two others in the same residential community around 8 p.m. on September 26, 2022. They ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, computers, printers, and paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts.

13. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gong Xueliang and His Wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong Harassed

Mr. Gong Xueliang, 85, and his wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong, 82, were harassed at home by local police officers on September 20, 2022.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Xuesong’s Home Ransacked

Thirteen plainclothes officers from the Daoli District Police Department went to Ms. Yu Xuesong’s home in the early morning hours of September 26, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated two computers, four Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.

15. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Changlan Arrested

Ms. Chen Changlan, over 60, was arrested by officers from the Jiulongpo District Police Department on September 16, 2022. When her family members went to the Jiulongpo District Detention House on September 23, 2022, they were told that Ms. Chen was not there. Her whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Liyan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Liyan was arrested by officers from the Erdao District on September 30, 2022. She is detained in the No.2 Detention Center in Weizigou.

17. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Wang Ce Arrested

Wang Ce (gender unknown) was arrested by police in the Wendeng District on the morning of September 27, 2022. Wang is held in a detention center and has been placed under official arrest.

18. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. He Zhiying Arrested

Several police officers arrested 53-year-old Ms. He Zhiying at her home on September 4, 2022 for posting stickers in June 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. He was taken to the Hufang Police Station in Qingshan Lake District for interrogation. She was denied admission due to her high blood pressure and was released.

Ms. He was arrested and taken to the police station again on September 11, 2022. After they failed to send her to the detention center because of her high blood pressure, she was released on bail pending trial.

19. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Guangjun Arrested

Ms. Guo Guangjun was arrested by officers from the Yangkou Town Police Station on the afternoon of September 29, 2022. She was released the next day.

20. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Hong Jijing Arrested

Ms. Hong Jijing from the Jiangbei District was arrested when she went out on September 23, 2022. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings including her computer were confiscated.
