(Minghui.org) A 52-year-old Linyi City, Shandong Province, resident was sentenced to three years in July 2022 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Yang Yunchun was arrested in May 2018 and had her home ransacked days later on May 25. Her Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated. Her motorcycle was impounded. Her mother-in-law and husband, who don’t practice Falun Gong, were also brought to the police station for interrogation.
The police later took Ms. Yang to the Linyi Brainwashing Center. When releasing her on bail, they threatened her family not to submit her persecution account to Minghui.org, or she would face retaliation.
The police renewed Ms. Yang’s bail condition twice, in 2020 and 2021, respectively. They arrested her again on May 27, 2022, and submitted her case to the Lanshan District Procuratorate. The Lanshan District Court sentenced her to three years with a 10,000-yuan fine in July.
