(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a 64-year-old woman in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, was sentenced to five years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Huo Qiaohua, a retired employee of a steel factory, was arrested some time around 2020 after a surveillance camera recorded her distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was sentenced in 2020 and admitted to the Shanxi Province Women’s Prison.

Prior to her latest arrest and sentencing, Ms. Huo was arrested in 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked her home and put her under house arrest.

Another resident of Changzhi City, 63-year-old Mr. Fu Changsheng, was sentenced to nine years by the Luzhou District Court in April 2021. This was the third time that Mr. Fu has been sentenced, following a three-year term between 2006 and 2009 and a four-year term between 2016 and 2020.
