(Minghui.org) A Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province resident was recently sentenced to three years for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Fu Yunping was arrested on March 17, 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her two residences and arrested her husband and daughter as well.
After the family of three was released, Ms. Fu was forced to live away from home to hide from the police, only to be arrested in nearby Daqing City. She was held at the Qiqihar Detention Center and the police quickly submitted her case to the Longjiang County Procuratorate, which then indicted her.
Ms. Fu was tried and sentenced to three years by the Longjiang County Court on May 11, 2021. Her family wasn’t informed of the trial.
Ms. Fu appealed the verdict. The Qiqihar City Intermediate Court recently upheld her original sentence.
This is the second time that Ms. Fu has been sentenced. She was previously arrested on March 11, 2014 for talking to people about Falun Gong. After she was rejected admission by the Qiqihar No. 1 Detention Center due to her high blood pressure, the police forced the Qiqihar No. 2 Detention Center to accept her.
The Longjiang County Court sentenced Ms. Fu to three years in the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison on September 17, 2014.
