(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 37 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Huichun in ICU

Ms. Wang Huichun had a heart attack and became unconscious while police ransacked her home around 8:00 p.m. on September 6, 2021. She was taken to the ICU in Daxing Hospital. Her blood pressure was over 200 mmHg. She was in a coma and in critical condition. Her doctor said she needed a heart bypass or a stent surgery. Her son borrowed money and contacted the 301 Hospital for surgery.

It was said that officers are stationed outside the hospital even though Ms. Wang is still in the ICU and in critical condition.

2. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Xiyu Imprisoned Again

Ms. Zhu Xiyu was sentenced to four years in prison on April 7, 2017. She was incarcerated in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison for more than three years before she was released. She was arrested again in March 2021. It was said that she was again incarcerated in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ji Baozhen Faces Trial

Ms. Ji Baozhen, 79, lives alone. She was arrested at home on September 2, 2021. Her family learned on September 9 that she was scheduled to be tried in court on September 10.

4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Yuhua Sentenced

Ms. Du Yuhua was arrested and detained on September 25, 2020. She was tried on March 31, 2021. The Qiaoxi District Court sentenced her to 11 months in prison and fined her 2,000 yuan on August 4, 2021. She was released on August 25, 2021.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Lu Yuqing’s and Ms. Zhou Hongli’s Pensions Suspended

Ms. Lu Yuqing and Ms. Zhou Hongli’s pensions were suspended by the Heping Center, Tianjin Social Security Bureau.

6. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yuxia Detained

Ms. Zhang Yuxia of Yingkou City was taken away by officers from Wafangdian City, Dalian on September 7, 2021. They claimed she would undergo a physical examination. She was brought back the same day. The next day, she was again forced to undergo a physical examination. Afterwards she was admitted to the Dalian Detention Center. The officers said a trial could be held in the detention center at any time.

7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jiemei Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Jiemei, 60, of Fushun City, was arrested on February 21, 2021, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong near Gaokan Town, Shenyang City. Her home was ransacked. She is being held at the Shenyang City No.1 Detention Center. The Gaokan Town Police Station submitted her case to the Hunnan District Domestic Security Division. The case went to the Shenyang City Economic Development Zone Procuratorate for an arrest warrant on March 26, 2021. The procuratorate filed a charge against her to the Shenyang City Economic Development Zone Court on June 18, 2021. On September 13, 2021, the court decided to hold a hearing at 9:00 a.m. on September 15, 2021, in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Han Yaxiang and Mr. Zhao Junsheng of Xinfa Town, and Mr. Li Jiwu of Yushu Town were arrested by officers from the Daoli Police Department on June 10, 2021. Their homes were ransacked. They have been in police custody.

9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Malin Town Police Station, led by Zhang Xue, went to Ms. Bai Shengzhen’s and Ms. Bai Yuru’s homes to harass them. The two practitioners were not at home. The officers went to the homes of Ms. Bai Zhiying and Ms. Zuo Wenzhen and harassed them.

Ms. Ren Suying, Mr. Yu Shulin, and Mr. Sun Liwen were harassed at their homes by special police from the Yuanbaoshan District Police Department on September 6, 2021. Ms. Ren’s home was ransacked.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Sentenced and Released, One Still in Jail

Mr. Shen Shihua, Mr. Wang Chengdong, and Ms. Deng Yuli were arrested on December 29 and 30, 2020, respectively. Mr. Shen was sentenced to seven months in prison. Mr. Wang was sentenced to eight months in prison. They were released. Ms. Deng is still being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

11. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Practitioners in the Zhangqiu District Harassed

Ms. Wang Chunhong was harassed at home by officers from the Mingshui No.2 Police Station in early September 2021. The officers photographed the contents of the house and forced her to answer if she still practiced Falun Gong.

Zhao Yuanjun (gender unknown) and Jiang Qingzhi (gender unknown) were harassed at home by officers from the Xianggongzhuang Police Station on September 6, 2021. The officers photographed their family room and pressured them to answer if they still practiced Falun Gong. This was the third time this year that these practitioners were harassed at home.

12. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Xiuhua Harassed

Retiree Ms. Li Xiuhua was harassed by people from her former workplace on the afternoon of September 7, 2021. They questioned her and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong or did Falun Gong-related activities outside. They ordered her to sign on their printed documents. Ms. Li refused.

13. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] You Jianhua Harassed

You Jianhua (gender unknown) was harassed at home by more than ten people led by village Party secretary He Jijun and Wen Shuyang. They threatened You and You’s family that if You did not renounce Falun Gong, You would be held in a brainwashing center and that You’s grandson would be denied a college education, the ability to enlist in the army, and access to government jobs.

14. [Beijing] Ms. Li Guanglan Detained, Her Husband Arrested

Ms. Li Guanglan was intercepted by police when she was on her way to do grocery shopping on the morning of September 3, 2021. The officers took her back home and arrested her and her husband. They ransacked the place and seized computers, cell phones, printers, and Falun Gong books and printouts. Her husband was released the next day. She is being held at the Daxing Detention Center.

15. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cao Fengying and Ms. Xiaoliangzi Arrested

Ms. Cao Fengying, in her 70s, was arrested at home by seven or eight plainclothes officers on September 8, 2021. Ms. Xiaoliangzi (nickname), in her 70s, who was visiting Ms. Cao, was also arrested. The practitioners’ whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Jianlin Harassed

Ms. Wu Jianlin of Zhuolu County was harassed and photographed by officers and agents from the 610 Office in mid-August 2021.

17. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Deng Guoying, Ms. Li (Zhen, the second character in her first name), and Ms. Dong Xiuting were arrested by officers from the local police station when they were distributing Falun Gong flyers in Liucun Town on the morning of September 3, 2021. The officers took their blood samples, fingerprints, and footprints and photographed them. They were released after 6:00 p.m.

18. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Yuchang on Trial, Mr. Xie Chunze Missing

Ms. Cai Yuchang was tried online by the Jinping District Court at 9:00 a.m. on August 10, 2021. Her husband did not observe the trial.

Her husband, Mr. Xie Chunze, wrote a letter to judge Yang Junrong to appeal for her innocence and that she be released. Mr. Xie has not been seen or heard from since the end of August.

19. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Jing and Mr. Li Guikun Detained

Ms. Sun Jing and her husband, Mr. Li Guikun, were arrested at home on September 8, 2021. Zhang Lijun, head of the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division, led criminal police force and officers from Xinbin Town Police Station to ransack their home. Then they took the husband and wife to the police station. The next day, police ordered their family to pay 1,000 yuan for their physical examinations and nucleic acid tests. That afternoon, Ms. Sun was incarcerated in the Fushun Detention Center and Mr. Li was incarcerated in the Xinbin County Detention Center.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Cui Faces Trial

Ms. Zhang Cui was notified that she would be tried at 1:30 p.m., on September 16, 2021, by the Ganjingzi District Court.

Her pension has been suspended since June 2021.
