Falun Gong Practitioners’ Peaceful Resistance to Persecution Resonates With People Around the World

(Minghui.org) July 20, 2021 marked the 22nd year of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. To commemorate the occasion, practitioners outside of China held rallies and marches calling for an end to the persecution. Their peacefulness and perseverance have won the public’s respect and support around the world.

“Chinese People Are Great, While the CCP Is Not”

Andrei Velorunov, who owns his own physical therapy clinic in Ottawa, Canada, is from the former Soviet Union. He said, “I’m from the Soviet Union, so I am quite familiar with communists and what they do. In addition to preaching communist ideology and telling lies to brainwash people, they commit crimes every day. Once they take power, they do whatever they want.”

Julia Pica, who works for the government in Ottawa, also showed her support for Falun Gong. She said the Chinese people are great, while the CCP is not. She urged more actions from the Canadian government to stop the persecution, since the CCP suppresses everyone who follows their own belief.

Young Chinese Man: Source of Organ Transplants is Suspicious

Brooklyn is home to the third-largest Chinese population in New York, with migrants from provinces of Fujian and Guangdong making up the majority. On July 18, 2021, more than 1,000 practitioners marched in Brooklyn to raise awareness of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.

John Sun leaned against a lamp post and quietly watched the march. He moved to the U.S. three years ago to attend high school. This was the first time he had seen a Falun Gong march. The many banners and messages in the event attracted him. He said it raised many questions in his mind, such as the source of the organs used in transplants in China.

He said he had access to free information after coming to the U.S. It was very easy to read information exposing the crimes of the CCP such as the truth about the June 4th Tiananmen Square student massacre. He was astonished to learn the truth, and said he thinks freedom of speech is very important. Differing opinions should not be stifled and the right to judge should be left to the individual. He said, “I listen to this and that, and I judge for myself instead of being indoctrinated with only one voice. Here in the U.S., there are divergent opinions on everything, criticisms and disagreement—all of them contain some truth.”

He pointed out, “On the surface, the Constitution in China appears to be very complete. One can have marches and rallies, but the reality is a different story. If Chinese officials say your gathering is illegal, you’re done for. The word ‘illegal’ is used very widely, and ordinary citizens have no rights. The CCP chairman receives 100 percent of the votes. It is so fake.”

Zheng Ligui, another young man from Fujian Province, said that the march was grand and the drums were uplifting, “It makes one want to join the march.”

Zheng said that he heard the CCP’s anti-Falun Gong propaganda when he was a primary school student. He saw several videos on the Internet when he was in high school and realized that, “The CCP was intentionally demonizing Falun Gong.” He agreed with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance taught by Falun Gong. He said that he began to read information about Falun Gong six years ago, and said reading it, “makes me feel at peace.”

“Falun Gong Practitioners are Treated Totally Differently”

Ms. Wang, who now lives in Montreal, Canada, was excited to see the large-scale march by Falun Gong practitioners on July 17, 2021. She explained, “In my workplace back in China, there were also Falun Gong practitioners, and almost all of them were arrested after the persecution started in 1999. I am very happy they can freely practice their belief here.”

Her daughter pointed to the police car providing security for the march and said, “Look! There are police protecting the practitioners!”

Ms. Wang said, “The CCP has fabricated numerous lies to maintain its power. It has suppressed and killed many people.” She said she absolutely supports Falun Gong’s efforts to resist the persecution.

“Learned the Facts About Falun Gong After Immigrating to Canada”

An immigrant from Shanghai initially had negative feelings about Falun Gong due to the CCP’s hate propaganda. Upon moving to Canada and encountering Falun Gong practitioners on multiple occasions, he changed his attitude.

“They are innocent people who have been targeted for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. And this has lasted over 20 years,” he added. “That is why I really respect them.”

He revealed that he moved to Canada because he no longer wanted to be suppressed by the CCP.

He said that he recorded the march and would show it to all his friends so that they could also learn about Falun Gong.

“I Want To Continue Doing This With You”

During a Falun Gong rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Calgary, Canada on July 19, 2021, local resident David Thompson decided to join the practitioners and took part by holding banners throughout the event.

Speaking of the ongoing suppression in China, he said, “The CCP is a demon. It enslaves its own people. It should be completely abandoned. What practitioners are doing today is to accelerate the demise of the CCP.”

“I love China and the Chinese people, but I hate the CCP,” Mr. Thompson added. When a practitioner asked him to take a break from holding the banners, he said, “No, I want to continue doing this with you. As long as you can stand, I will.”

“You are Doing the Best Thing in the World”

When artist Charlotte came back to the parliament building in downtown Stockholm on July 17, 2021, she was very happy to see the practitioners there she met last winter, “I am so happy to see you all again.” She wrote down the details of practitioners’ upcoming activities in July and August, “I will join a big rally nearby and would like to bring them over here to support you.”

Charlotte said that signing on the petition letter was far from enough, and she wanted to do more, “Nowadays, many people don’t believe in God, and they fall for the Chinese Communist Party because they are lured by economic interests. You are helping them change their views so that they can have a better future. You are doing the best thing in the world.”

Another middle-aged Swedish woman name Moondel said, “I have traveled to many countries and met people from all societies, and I know very well the evil nature of the Communist Party. It is terrible that the persecution has been going on for 22 years!” She believes that more and more Swedes have awakened in the pandemic, “I often talked to people about the Communist Party, and I feel that many people are now seeing it for what it is. When everyone awakes, the communist demon will be naturally eliminated.”

“I Will Post This Video Online, so Everyone can see It”

When Mary Kaina passed by a rally held by Falun Dafa practitioners on Parliament Square in London on July 18, she was attracted. She raised her mobile phone to take a video of practitioners doing the exercises, and then she walked around.

When a practitioner approached her, she asked several questions and continued to record. “Can you tell me what Falun Gong is? Why does the CCP persecute it? Is it a political group? Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, but it’s not easy to do. How did you do it?”

The practitioner answered all her questions. She recorded for about ten minutes and said, “I will post this video online so everyone can see it.” She signed the petition and said, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is so good!”

“The CCP is an Anti-Humanity Entity”

Li Hsian-Chun, president of the Formosan Association for Public Affairs in Los Angeles, said that people practice Falun Gong to improve their health. Li said it is “unacceptable” for the CCP to remove organs from those who refuse to renounce their faith, and sell their organs for transplants.

“The CCP is an evil regime and an anti-humanity entity,” said Li, adding that the regime would “collapse sooner or later.”

Li said that those who sat in the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the CCP’s 100th anniversary were standing on the bodies of people the Party has killed.
