(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wan Hanxiu and Mr. Zhang Xueqin Face Indictment

According to a reliable source, the cases against Ms. Wan Hanxiu and Mr. Zhang Xueqin of Yugan County were transferred to the Wannian County Procuratorate. All the cases against Falun Gong practitioners in the Shangrao area are processed by the Wannian County Procuratorate.

2. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Li Guirong Faces Trial

The Rencheng District Intermediate Court is scheduled to hear the case against Li Guirong (gender unknown) on July 22, 2021. Practitioners in Zoucheng City may also face trial.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Kaili Detained

Mr. Lu Kaili was arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Malanzi Police Station on June 20, 2021. His family was notified by police that he was subjected to five days of detention.

His family went to pick him up on June 25, but he was not there. He had been taken to the Yaojia Detention Center by officers from the Malanzi Police Station. His family later received his arrest warrant, which was dated July 8, 2021.

Mr. Lu has been persecuted and imprisoned for a total of 13 years. He lost control of his bladder and bowels and was unable to walk normally as a result of the extensive and repeated persecution. He is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Changli and Ms. Qin Xiaoli Face Indictment

Ms. Feng Changli and Ms. Qin Xiaoli of Changle County were arrested on May 18, 2021. Their cases were submitted to the Changle Procuratorate on July 15 and 16, 2021, respectively.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Yang Li Faces Trial

Yang Li (gender unknown) is scheduled to be tried by the Chaoyang District Court in the No. 3 Court located on the third floor at 9:00 a.m. on July 20, 2021.

6. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Harassed, One Under Surveillance

Mr. Gu Fuman was being watched closely by officers from the Tongcheng Police Department between June 21 and July 5, 2021. Two officers were stationed in a car in front of his residential building 24 hours a day. He was followed whenever he left his home.

Ms. Li Qiaolian, Ms. Zhao Qingzhen and her husband, Mr. Zhang Youli, were harassed at home.

7. [Dengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Junjie Forced to Live Away from Home

Ms. Zhang Junjie was harassed at home on the morning of June 17, 2021 by Zhang Lei from the Dengzhou Anti-Cult Office, clerks from Zhanglou Township Comprehensive Office, Dingwan School chancellor, and officers from the Shengli Police Station. They searched her home and seized her picture of the Falun Gong’s founder, incense, and her granddaughter’s cell phone. She was arrested and taken to the police station.

Against her will, officers photographed her, took her fingerprints, blood samples, and measured her height and feet. She was taken to the Dengzhou City Detention Center in the afternoon and detained for 15 days. She was released on the morning of July 2, 2021.

A group of people went to her home on the morning of July 9, 2021, and claimed they would arrest her, hold her in the Nanyang Brainwashing Center, and “transform” her (force her to renounce her faith). She left home to avoid further persecution.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Miao Jianguo Detained

Mr. Miao Jianguo was arrested by officers from the Linghe Police Department on July 11, 2021. It was said that someone reported him. He was detained for five days.

9. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gou Sulian and three practitioners who were visiting her were arrested at her home by officers from the Shaqu Police Station on July 13, 2021. Her home was ransacked.

She suddenly developed illness symptoms at the scene and was taken to the emergency room in the Xinjin County People’s Hospital. The other three practitioners were held in the Shaqu Police Station. Their families were not allowed to visit them or deliver clothes, etc. Police ransacked two of the practitioners’ homes that afternoon.

10. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Fan Juncao Harassed

Ms. Fan Juncao was harassed at home four times in June 2021 by officers from the Xinning Town Police Station. Her husband was forced to sign the “three statements” and renounce Falun Gong on her behalf during a harassment last November.

11. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Zecong and Deng Fuming Harassed

Ms. Hu Zecong and Deng Fuming (gender unknown) were harassed by clerks from their communities between the end of June and early July 2021. The practitioners were ordered to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong and were threatened that their grandchildren’s college educations and careers would be affected.

12. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Over 10 Practitioners Harassed

Agents from the Xuzhou City 610 Office, officers from police stations, and clerks from communities harassed practitioners at their homes at the end of June 2021. They tried to force practitioners to sign “guarantee statements” renouncing Falun Gong. Ms. Shi Yuzhen and over 10 practitioners were threatened.

13. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Sun Qiuhong Detained

Sun Qiuhong (gender unknown) was arrested at home on June 10, 2021, by more than ten officers from the Shengquan Police Station, led by Liu Baodong from the Laishan District Domestic Security Division. They ransacked the place and seized many personal items. Sun is being held at the Fushan Detention Center. It is reported that he or she is in poor health.

Sun was formally arrested on July 16, when the police claimed they found Falun Gong books and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party as evidence from the seized items.

14. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Pingye Sentenced, Min Caihua Detained

Mr. Wang Pingye was arrested in May 2021 and sentenced to three and a half years in June 2021.

Min Caihua (gender unknown), 65, was arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers in the Xialu District on June 29, 2021. Min is being held in the Yangxin No. 1 Detention Center.

15. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Harassed, One Arrested

Ms. Gu Wenhua was harassed at home seven or eight times by officers from Ande Street since June 2021. Her family, from elderly to children and grandchildren, were traumatized.

Ms. Su Chunling, around 56, was arrested by officers from the Lingcheng District Domestic Security Division.

Ms. Ma Zhenzhen, 67, was harassed at home by two officers.

16. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Cailan and Her Family Repeatedly Harassed

Ms. Huang Cailan, her daughter, and her son-in-law were harassed by officers from the Xinqu Police Station and clerks from her community at the end of June 2021. They tried to break open her door around June 25. They returned the next day and tried again.

They stationed themselves next to her door and the elevator entrance on the first floor. They talked on walkie-talkies and said, “Don’t let her escape, block the exit.” When they did not find her, they went to her daughter’s home to put pressure on her daughter and her son-in-law. They also pressured her daughter’s and her son-in-law’s bosses and made them do the same. She could not return home.

17. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Harassed and Arrested

Many practitioners were harassed at their homes in mid-June 2021 by police officers and community clerks. The practitioners were photographed, and their Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated. Some were taken to police stations to be questioned and photographed. Afterwards, some practitioners were not heard from, and their situations are unknown.

Mr. Du Zhijun, his wife Ms. Wu Qihui, Ms. Xu Zhongrong, Mr. Wei Bin, and Ms. Yin Juhua were arrested.
