90-Year-Old Falun Dafa Practitioner: Awakening Sentient Beings

(Minghui.org) I am a 90-year-old woman from the countryside who began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. Since then, I have recovered from many illnesses. Besides, I went from being illiterate to being able to read Zhuan Falun – the main teachings of Falun Dafa. It was truly amazing. Only with Master Li’s (Dafa’s founder) protection have I been able to come this far.

Since July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the former CCP leader Jiang Zemin have launched the persecution of Falun Dafa. In the early stage, people from our local 610 Office and police were deeply deceived by the CCP and very evil. As a result, many practitioners were taken to forced labor camps, jails, and brainwashing centers and persecuted. Some were repeatedly held in police custody, where they were subjected to cruel torture, and some died. 

I had the thought: I am a Dafa practitioner, I must eliminate my fear, let go of life and death, to spread the truth of Dafa to people. In the old days, people all acknowledged that providing a monk some food would receive good fortune, yet people today dare to do anything bad to those who cultivate Buddhahood and commit a sin! 

After that, I began to go to police stations, police bureaus, the 610 Office, Political and Legal Affairs Committee, courts, and the procuratorate to awaken people’s consciences. These people were more educated than I since I never attended school. Thus, I didn’t know any profound principles. What I talked about was how I benefited from practicing Dafa and the beauty of Dafa, what I had witnessed through first-hand experience of the evilness of the multiple political movements launched by the CCP, and I told them the principle of being “good is rewarded and evil is punished.” 

For the past 22 years, whenever I heard practitioners being arrested and detained, I’d go with fellow practitioners to police stations and police departments to clarify the facts and demand their release. We also went to the 610 Office and Domestic Security Division to demand their release. Practitioners worked with one another as one body to clarify the facts, which greatly shocked the evil. 

As a result, some practitioners were released the same day, and some were released after a few days up to one week. We stopped their committing crimes to Dafa in time, and rescued practitioners. Sometimes when we ran into practitioners who had been detained for a while as the police refused to release them, we went to the procuratorate and court to awaken people’s consciences. 

Sometimes in order to save time, when I couldn’t find other practitioners to go with me, I just went alone. I thought I was a good person by following “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” I didn’t do anything bad, so I wasn’t afraid of them. 

One time, I went to a police station to demand a practitioner’s release. I tried to awaken their conscience, but they didn’t want to listen. I then said out loud, “Our Falun Dafa practitioners don’t do any bad deeds. She follows Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person, however, you treat her as a bad person and an enemy. Let me ask you: what crime did she commit? For you to have her arrested and detained makes no sense. You should know that! Falun Dafa saves people. They have suffered so much to the point where their family is ruined, do you have any conscience?” 

Right then, I began to shout loudly, “The heaven will eliminate the CCP and bless China! Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful! The Chinese people used to believe in gods and had high morals.” At that time, the director of the police station looked at me and then gave me a thumbs-up. He smiled at me and said, “I admire you! I admire you for your good health given your age, and can see that your voice is so strong.” Right then, I quietly asked for Master’s help to empower me. 

Sometimes the police still didn’t release our practitioners, so we had to go to the procuratorate to awaken the consciences of people there. We said to the staff, “You shouldn’t take this case. Handling Falun Dafa cases won’t do any good, as you’d incur a lot of trouble for yourself if you get involved in the persecution. Think about it, in the past, when seeing monks looking for alms, you’d treat them with good meals. People all knew one would receive good fortune for treating monks nicely. However, today those who cultivate Buddhahood are condemned. There is nothing wrong with our practitioners being good people, they did nothing against the law.” Meanwhile, practitioners often mailed truth-clarification letters to police, the procuratorate, and others, timely exposing those who received evil retributions for persecuting practitioners. 

After a while, when I went back to the procuratorate to check with the staff, they told me the case had been returned to the police department two times before it was transferred to another county. Since last year, there had been no one brought to trial in our county. There were two cases where both of them were transferred to another county. Currently, one practitioner was held and her case was about to be transferred to another county as well. 

On the court day, we went to another county. When a local police officer saw my backpack, he started asking me, “What do you have in your bag?” I said, “Informational materials, I brought them with me for saving people!” He said, “I’ll confiscate all of them!” I said, “It’s fine if you want to read them. But if you want to take them away, I can’t give them to you. These materials were printed by using the money saved through my living a very thrift life, they are for saving people.” 

He began to search my bag and said, “There is also truth-clarification currency.” I said, “They are my income, you can’t take them from me either.” He asked, “Can I use my money to exchange with yours?” I said, “Sure. We came here today for all of you to understand that our practitioners didn’t violate the law, they are good people. You should be able to tell good from bad, truth from wrongness, kindness from evilness. Please keep in mind ‘Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!’ I hope all of you stay safe!” They all said, “Well said! Well said!” 

One time, when I took the bus, I gave a person a truth-clarification DVD. He said, “You gave it to me, but do you know who I am? I work at the police department. I want to arrest you for that.” I said, “You work there? Let me give you one more.” “Aren’t you afraid of being arrested?”He asked. I said, “I am not. At my age, I didn’t do anything bad,-- what am I afraid of? I can’t afford to hire a nanny to take care of me. If you were to arrest me, then I could have saved the hassle of cooking.” Upon hearing that, he laughed, then said, “You are so funny.” I said, “I’m here to save you.” He said, “Well said!” I said, “It’ll be good for you to check it out.” Then he took the DVD from me. 

One day, I gave a security guard a truth-clarification DVD. Since he already watched it, I then handed it over to another person right beside him. He said, “Give it to me, that’s what I am here for.” He then began to call the police. While he stood up to make the call, I just took his chair and sat there. Soon enough, a police vehicle arrived, then two police officers got off from it. I said to them, “It’s me giving it to him, it has nothing to do with other people. I am doing a good thing.” One police officer looked at me and said, “Stop talking, please go home.” As I didn’t want to get the security involved, I said, “It’s me who gave it to him. I’m here to save people.” 

At that time, there were many passersby. Police officers asked me to go home. I said, “Thank you!” Then they took off. The person who called the police said, “I called them over, but they didn’t deal with it.” At that time, seeing so many passersby, I began to shout out loud, “It’s the will of the divine! The divine will eliminate the CCP and bless China. Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!”

One time, I went to the 610 Office to clarify the facts. At the entrance, a young man looked at me viciously. I ignored him and just headed into the room. One female staff said to me, “For your age, you are doing very well!” I said, “I try to be a good person, a kind person. Good and evil has its due course.” She said, “Look, you carry such a big bag.” I said, “I’m here to save you, it’s solely for the benefit of you.” “For you to be so kind, you’ll be blessed and live longer.” I said, “I’m doing well, same as you, we do good to our country.” I then passed on the materials to them. 

Right then, someone said, “You always go to demand the release of your practitioners. Who is she? I’ll get both of you arrested.” I said, “You don’t know what kind of relationship we have? I’m here to speak for the justice, regardless of whether you want to arrest me or not.” After a while, I went to their office again. Seeing me, they said, “Good, you came. Are you here to save us? Did you bring your books? We want to read your books so badly.” I said, “As long as you are willing to read them, I’ll give my books to you for free. There are also DVDs and USB drives for you to check out.” They thanked me. 

Later, after the new person in charge of the 610 Office had a chat with me, he asked, “Do you still have that book? Could you share with me? I am new here, I don’t know anything, please keep me posted.” Later I gave him a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and The Ultimate Goal of Communism, as well as Dafa truth-clarification DVDs. When I went back there, this new director said to me, “These books are wonderful! Please share with me when new books come out.” 

Now, no matter whether I go to the police station, police department, procuratorate, court, and other places to clarify the facts, or deliver the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and The Ultimate Goal of Communism and informational materials to them, most of them accepted my materials. Some even asked me to deliver informational materials to them, because they liked reading them. They have their knowing side and they are also beings coming to obtain the Buddha law. We should cultivate ourselves well. If we didn’t, then we couldn’t save them, as they are the most pitiful beings used by the CCP and are lost in the human world. 

After those 610 Office staff members checked out those books and materials, they told me they wanted to read Dafa books. I told them that although our informational materials were free, they had to pay for Dafa books. They agreed. But still, I didn’t want to just give it to them, as they were too precious. So I went to discuss with a few practitioners. They all said, “As long as they truly wanted to read them, we could give them these Dafa books, as they are also beings coming for the Fa.” 

But I didn’t have any extra books on hand, and then my daughter suddenly delivered a copy of Zhuan Falun to me. I assumed that it was arranged by Master. Then together with  Hong Yin II that I kept, I went to deliver these two books to them. After they received the books, they were all very excited. I also told them I didn’t have any extra on hand and that they’d need to place an order if they wanted to see more. The female staff member who got the books first said that she’d finish reading them that night then pass them on to the next person. 

As a matter of fact, for us to have such an optimal cultivation environment was no easy task. During those years when the persecution was most brutal, nobody dared to take our informational materials. As soon as someone knew what it was, that person would be petrified. Though I could be courageous enough to pass it on to them, they wouldn’t dare to receive them. 

One day, a practitioner was reported by someone who didn’t know the truth about Dafa and was held in a police station. This police office is located in a suburban area, which was hard for us to reach. A practitioner and I went there to demand her release. We tried to clarify the facts to the police officers, but they didn’t want to listen. Consequently, I became agitated, and my competitive mentality also flared up. I was taken advantage of by the evil and ended up being held at the police station for several hours and was not released until 10 p.m. But I didn’t leave until the other practitioner who went with me was also released. 

Every time before I went out to clarify the facts, I stood in front of Master’s portrait, I always asked Master to strengthen me. I tried to let go of life and death and eliminated my fear. Sometimes when my feet hurt, I said to Master, “Your disciple is going out to awaken people’s conscience. Master, please empower me.” Then my feet stopped hurting as I was walking. I wasn’t an eloquent person to begin with, but when it came to talking about the truth of Dafa, I could articulate it very well. It was just as Master said, 

“When disciples have ample righteous thoughts Master has the power to turn back the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond,” Hong Yin II)

In my 22 years of cultivation, it was benevolent Master carefully protecting me. With my unshakable faith towards Master, I was seldom interfered with and have walked fairly steadily on my cultivation path. 

I felt so blessed by Master, and Master did everything, He has strengthened his disciples and helped them establish their mighty virtue.
