1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Over-80-year-old Practitioner Xin Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Over-80-year-old Xin (first name and gender unknown) was sentenced to one year in prison by the Chuanying District Court in early August 2021. Xin was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center right after the trial but was denied admission due to his or her physical condition. Xin returned home.

The day after the trial, Li Zhongcheng from the Chuanying District Court ordered that Xin be taken to a hospital for a physical exam. Xin did not return home afterward. It is unknown where Xin is detained.

2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ye Xiaobing Faces Trial

Ms. Ye Xiaobing will be tried in the Haizhu District Court on the morning of August 27, 2021.

Ms. Ye was arrested by officers from the Tianhe District Police Department and the Tianhenan Police Station on April 24, 2020. She is now in the Tianhe District Detention Center.

3. [Laoling City, Shandong Province] Case Against Ms. Zang Shuling Submitted to Court

Police from Laoling City, Shandong Province, went to Yanshan County in Hebei Province on March 24, 2021, and arrested Ms. Zang Shuling, who is from Huangjia Town, Laoling City. Ms. Zhang’s home was ransacked. Her personal belongings, including an electric car, were confiscated. She is now in the Dezhou Detention Center and her case has been submitted to the court.

4. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Case Against Mr. Hong Chang Submitted to Procuratorate

Mr. Hong Chang was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Shangtang Police Station in the Gongshu District on April 23, 2021. His case has been submitted to the Xihu District Procuratorate.

5. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jin Dejun’s Pension Suspended

The Yanji City Social Insurance Bureau suspended Mr. Jin Dejun’s pension payments in July 2020. He was also told to return the pension he was paid while he was detained.

Mr. Jin, in his 70’s, was sentenced to nine years in prison. His wife divorced him while he was in prison. After he was released, he was homeless. His pension has been suspended for over a year. He has a hard time supporting himself.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Rong Tiewen Arrested and Detained

Ms. Rong Tiewen, 73, from the Fengman District was arrested at home by officers from the Hadawan Police Station at the end of July 2021. Ms. Rong is being held in the Jilin City Detention Center.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Li Zhuquan’s Pension Suspended

Li Zhuquan’s (gender unknown) pension has been suspended by the Changchun Social Security Bureau for three months.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners from the Laoshan District were arrested on June 25, 2021. Five of them—Mr. Wang Yong, Ms. Wang Yanni, Ms. Wang Meizhi, Ms. Wang Guizhi, and Ms. Li Ping—have been released. Liu Chenjin (gender unknown) is still detained in Pudong.

9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yuzhi Arrested and Detained

Ms. Jiang Yuzhi from Yumin Township was arrested at a relative’s home by Yumin Township Police Station officers on August 4, 2021. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated over 10 Falun Gong books, 4 USB drives, two small speakers, and one media player. Ms. Jiang was detained overnight in the Yushu City Police Department. The next day she was taken to a detention center and officially detained for five days.

10. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Huirong Harassed

Mr. Zhang Huirong lives in Dongwangfuzhuang Village, Nancun Town, Pingdu City. On August 17, 2021, village official Jiang Yanfei called and told him to go to the village office to sign a guarantee statement. He refused to cooperate.

11. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Qin Yali and Ms. Li Hongyan Harassed

Ms. Qin Yali was called to the Wucheng Community Office in mid-July 2021. Twelve people, including the community director, the community Party committee secretary, and 610 Office staff, were there to talk to her.

Ms. Li Hongyan was harassed at home by the Wucheng Community director and the secretary of the community Party committee. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused to do.

12. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhu Yachun Harassed

Ms. Zhu Yachun from the Meijiang District was harassed at home by staff members from the local sub-district office on August 19, 2021. She was asked if she still practiced Falun Gong and was photographed.

13. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dai Jianjun Harassed on the Road

Mr. Dai Jianjun was intercepted in his car as he went through the Housuobao Inspection Station. He was asked if he practiced Falun Gong. After he refused to answer, he was reported to a higher authority and his car was searched. He was released after the inspector registered his ID and cell phone number.

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Huang Honglei Faces Trial

Mr. Huang Honglei from the Haigang Economic Development Zone will be tried in the Luannan County Court on August 25, 2021.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Ms. Sun Lijuan Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Sun Lijuan was arrested by officers from the Jiaozuo City Domestic Security Division for talking about Falun Gong on the Internet. She is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center. Her case has been submitted to the Linhai District Procuratorate. Her family has applied to defend her and went to the procuratorate to view her case files.

16. [Shanghai] Mr. Chen Jie Arrested

Mr. Chen Jie went to the post office near his home on August 18, 2021, and has not been seen or heard from since. His current whereabouts are unknown.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Hongyan Arrested

Ms. Li Hongyan, around 45, was arrested at her rented house on Guilin Road by officers from the Erdao District Police Department at noon on August 18, 2021. She is currently detained in the Jinqianbao Police Station.

18. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhao Yutian and Ms. Yang Huiling Arrested and Detained

Mr. Zhao Yutian, 58, was followed by officers from the Zhongjing Police Station before June 2021. He was arrested at home on June 5, 2021. He is being held in the Nanyang City Detention Center.

Ms. Yang Huling, 56, from Lidian Township, Sheqi County, was traveling to Beijing at the end of May 2021, to look for a temporary job. She was intercepted at the railway station and taken to the Nanyang City Detention Center. She has been detained there ever since.

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Qingxiu Harassed

Ms. Wu Qingxiu’s husband was called to the Luowan Community in the Mengyang Sub-district on August 12, 2021. He was pressured and told to make his wife Ms. Wu sign a guarantee statement. He was threatened and told that his wife would be taken to a brainwashing center. He was frightened and deceived. When he came home he pressured his wife to sign, but she refused to cooperate.

20. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] New Practitioner Mr. Chen Bangcai Harassed

Mr. Cheng Bangcai lives in Mamuhe Village in the Longfeng Sub-district and is a new practitioner. He was harassed at home by village officials Yuan Wenping and Zhao Chengyao in April 2021. They tore down a couplet and took his photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

Zhao Chengyao, the secretary of the village Party committee, called Mr. Chen’s son and daughter-in-law in August 2021 and threatened them that they would be implicated if Mr. Chen still practiced Falun Gong.

21. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Su Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Su Xiuying is retired from the Hengchang Group in Mengyin County. She was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was arrested by Mengcheng Police Station officers on August 11, 2021. She was placed under 15-day detention but was released in the evening after she failed the physical exam.

Her home and her son’s home were ransacked. The police confiscated three Dafa books, a media player, a wall poster, a desktop calendar, a wall calendar, her cell phone, and other items from her home. They did not find anything of interest in her son’s home.

22. [Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Mingying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Mingying was tried for the second time in the Kaijiang County Court on July 19, 2021. After the trial, Ms. Liu was arrested by officers from the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division, including deputy Li Xiang, on the morning of July 29, 2021. She was taken to have a physical exam and then to the Dazhou City Detention Center on the afternoon of July 29, 2021. She has been detained there ever since. Her family is not allowed to visit her.

23. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Shi Li is the owner of an agency. Five or five plainclothes officers broke into her store just five minutes after two other practitioners entered her store on the afternoon of August 4, 2021. Ms. Shi Li and the other two were searched and their truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. They were then taken to the Hengjiao Street Police Station in the Baiyun District.

24. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners from Baosheng Township, including 69-year-old Ms. Xiong Jinhua, 55-year-old Ms. Zhang Hongju, and 75-year-old Ms. Gong Zhijun, were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Moxi Market. They were arrested by officers from the Moxi Town Police Station on the morning of August 15, 2021.

They were taken to the police station and interrogated. Ms. Xiong and Ms. Zhang were forced to give their fingerprints on some forms, but Ms. Gong did not cooperate. About 30 yuan in paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them were found in Ms. Zhang’s purse and confiscated. They were taken to the Ximei Police Station and forcibly vaccinated.

Ms. Xiong’s home was ransacked around noon on August 16, 2021. A photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two copies of Zhuan Falun, and 39 yuan in paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them were confiscated.

25. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Four officers from the Anju District Domestic Security Division and the Dongchan Police Station went to the home of Mr. Zhang Jiyuan and Ms. Wu Xiuping on July 20, 2021. They confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two copies of Zhuan Falun, and a media player. They were taken to the police station.

Officers then went to Zhang Qing’s home and confiscated a computer and a media player. Next, they went to the home of Ms. Leng Xiuying and Mr. Zheng Xiuquan.

All five were interrogated in the police station and were pressured to sign the three statements, which they all refused to do. They were released in the late afternoon.
