(Minghui.org) A series of activities were held in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu on Saturday, August 7, 2021, to raise awareness of the 22-year-long persecution of Falun Dafa in China. The Tian Guo Marching Band, Falun Dafa exercise demonstration, and a car parade drew many people’s attention. Falun Dafa practitioners shared the real story behind the persecution and collected signatures on a petition for it to end immediately. After signing the petition, some thanked practitioners for “waking people up” and said they wanted to help spread the information.

Thank You for Letting People Know
Jean-Guy and Gusel thanked practitioners after learning the details about the 22-year long persecution in China. “We learned something very important today. You did a good job and thank you for letting people know about this,” they said.
Jean-Guy (left) and Gusel (right) said they wish to help practitioners raise awareness about the persecution in China.
Gusel believes that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a threat to the world. She said China’s state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living practitioners who were jailed for refusing to give up their faith was “horrifying.” And that it was important that the CCP’s crimes be exposed to the public.
Her husband Jean-Guy agreed, “We don’t get this information from the news outlets. You do a great job of letting the world know about the persecution. Thank you!”
Gusel looked at the practitioners meditating and said, “Look, they are so peaceful. Everyone needs this kind of peace.”
Eager to help spread the truth of the persecution, the couple told the practitioners before they left, “We will tell others, definitely.”
Lucy was drawn to the exercise demonstration. “It is so peaceful, so nice,” she said. She asked if there was an exercise site nearby so she could join.
When talking about the ongoing persecution in China, Lucy said, “I want to help! People should have the freedom of belief, especially when it comes to a practice that helps to improve mental and physical wellbeing.”
Canadian Government Should Act
A practitioner explains to Dubé how practitioners in China suffer in the persecution.
Local resident Dubé signed the petition asking the city council to pass a resolution to condemn the ongoing persecution. “The persecution of Falun Gong is vile,” he said, after learning the details of the 22-year-long persecution.

Miville and Virginie were glad that the practitioners told them about the persecution and signed the petition to end it. Virginie said that the Canadian government needs to pressure the CCP.
Say No to Communism
Nadia from Ukraine supports the practitioners’ efforts and believes that everyone should say no to communism.
Nadia is from Ukraine, a former communist country. She said she understood how communists control people’s minds and when communists offer some kind of benefit, it’s at the price of one’s soul.
“Under communist dictatorship, people are brainwashed and live in a system without freedom. You have no individuality and must be like everyone else. One may be killed if he chooses not to obey. The communist regime may offer free education or free medical care, but you must pay the price by losing spiritual freedom.”
“If everyone can unite in the name of justice, we will win,” Nadia encouraged people to say no to communism just like the Falun Dafa practitioners do.
Before the car parade set off, a man asked to take a photo with the cars. He said he’s been paying attention to the CCP’s infiltration in the West and knew about the persecution of Falun Dafa. Because of the lack of reporting in the mainstream news, not many people are aware of how big of a threat the CCP is to the world. He told practitioners what they are doing is meaningful because they were “waking people up.”
