Additional Persecution News from China – July 26, 2021 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Face Charges

Four practitioners, Ms. Qin Xiaoli, Ms. Yang Mingxiang, Ms. Sun Xueqin, and Ms. Feng Changli, were phoned and told to go to the Changle County Procuratorate at 10 a.m. on July 21, 2021. A middle-aged man met them there. He took out a confession letter and said that officials would be lenient if it was signed. The practitioners all refused to cooperate. He told them to sign a notice of entrusting a defender and a summon certificate, which they also refused. The man said their cases would soon be transferred to the Qingzhou Procuratorate.

2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Mingyi Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Zhang Mingyi, 50, from the Xuanwu District was arrested in his workplace in late September 2019. His home was ransacked and his truth-clarifying materials and printers were confiscated. He has been detained since then. He was sentenced to five years in prison in late March 2021 and is now detained in the Suzhou Prison.

3. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Liu Qingyu Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Liu Qingyu from Dashiqiao City was reported to the police on April 11, 2021. The police tracked his car through surveillance cameras. Mr. Liu was arrested on April 12, 2021. The police searched his car and found the keys to his home. They went door to door in Mr. Liu’s residential community to locate his home, and then ransacked it.

Mr. Liu’s case is now in the Zhanqian District Procuratorate. His lawyer met him on July 22, 2021 and went to the Procuratorate the next day to review his case files.

4. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qian Fuyun Tried in Court

Ms. Qian Fuyun from Tuoshan Township was arrested by officers from the Tuoshan Township Police Station on January 13, 2021. She was released the same day. She has been harassed constantly by police and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. Ms. Qian was framed by officers from the Tuoshan Township Police Station and accused of talking to people about Falun Gong at the local election assembly. Her family was deceived and told that it would be okay if they signed a document provided by the police.

Ms. Qian was tried in the Wafandian City Court on June 28, 2021.

5. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Baoling and Ms. Jiang Shubo Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Baoling from Fuzhoucheng Town was sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Jiang Shubo was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.

6. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yanqiu Charged by the Procuratorate

Ms. Yang Yanqiu from Xindu District was arrested at around 9 p.m., on February 4, 2020 for posting truth clarification stickers and was taken to the Dahuoquan Police Station in Xindu District. She was released after being detained one night and half a day in the police station.

Ms. Yang’s home was ransacked the next day, at around 2 p.m., February 5, 2020. Officers from the Dahuoquan Police Station confiscated her computer, printer, and other personal belongings. She was placed under 15-day detention by the Xindu District Police Department on the same day. She was denied admission by the No. 2 Detention Center since it was during the pandemic. She was put under residential surveillance.

During the 15-day residential surveillance, a police car was parked around the clock downstairs at the building where Ms. Yang lived. Two officers followed her everywhere she went. She was then placed under bail pending trial after the period was over. She was taken to the Xingtai City Brainwashing Center twice, once in June 2020, and again in July 2020 . She was detained there for half a month.

Ms. Yang was recently charged by the Xiangdu District Procuratorate. Her case will soon be submitted to the Xiangdu District Court.

7. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ten Practitioners Harassed

Several practitioners in the Qinghemen District have been harassed by officers from the Qinghemen District Police Department and the affiliated police stations since early May 2021. The officers installed surveillance cameras near the practitioners’ homes, and they monitor and follow them. Shang Bingxin, head of the Qinghemen District Police Department, is responsible for this harassment.

Ms. Huo Xiuqin was detained in prison for three years and was paralyzed due to the persecution. Despite her condition the police still harassed her and checked whether she still practiced Falun Gong.

Ms. Gao Guixiang left her hometown and worked in another place. The police went to harass her (non-practitioner) elder sister.

Three officers from the Hexi Police Station including Geng Hui, director of the police station, went to knock on the door of Ms. Wang Fengyun’s house. They also went to harass Ms. Li Cuiyu at her booth in the Qinghemen District Big Market. They went to Ms. Ma Cuiping’s home and knocked on the door. When no one answered the door they went to harass Ms. Ma’s younger brother (non-practitioner).

Two officers from the Aiyou Police Station went to Liu Cunxian’s home. They knocked on the door but got no response. They then went to Li Ying’s home. They entered and said they came to check on Li.

Several officers from the Wulongba Police Station, including Liu Liang, went to Ms. Li Guirong’s home in Jiancaogou Village. They threatened to send her to prison if she continued to practice Falun Gong. A few days later, they returned to Jiancaogou Village and went to the home of Mr. Zhu Weida and his wife Ms. Wu Zhanrong. They asked whether the couple still practiced Falun Gong, and videotaped the couple. They came back to the couple’s home a few days later and ransacked their home. They arrested Ms. Wu Zhanrong and released her later that day.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Liu You Arrested

Liu You (gender unknown) from Liushui Village, Taihe District, was arrested at around 9 p.m., on July 21, 2021.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Lanying and Ms. Wei Xiuyun Arrested

Ms. Zhou Lanying, 77, and Ms. Wei Xiuyun,76, were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing truth-clarifying materials at the Dongxinzhang Market in Fangsunqiao Township, Mancheng County on July 16, 2021. They were arrested by officers from the Fangsunqiao Township Police Station. They were photographed and their blood samples were taken. Each one was fined 900 yuan. They were released at around 10 p.m. that evening.

10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ming Yanbo Harassed

Three officers from the Longhua Police Station in Longtan District went to Ms. Ming Yanbo’s home at around 7:30 p.m., July 20, 2021. Ms. Ming, who is in her 70s, refused to open the door. The officers pulled the switch outside to cut off the electric power. After talking to the head of the police station over the phone, the power was restored and Ms. Ming’s family member opened the door. The officers entered the house and started to search for Dafa books and other Falun Gong related items. They confiscated a wall poster with the words of “Falun Dafa is good” and took a photo of Ms. Ming.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Ruiyu and Ms. Cui Xiuqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Ruiyu, in her 70s, was followed and reported to police when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials. She was arrested at around 3 p.m. on July 22, 2021, and taken to the Jianguo Police Station. Seventy-eight yuan in cash and 7 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, along with 13 peace cards, were confiscated. She was placed under 10-day detention, which would not be executed for those over 70 years old. Ms. Wang was released on the same day.

Ms. Cui Xiuqin was arrested downstairs at the building where she lives by two officers from the Jianguo Police Station at around 8-9 a.m., July 23, 2021. She is now detained in a detention house. It is said that she will be sentenced to prison.

12. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Xiuying’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Ren Xiuying from the Laigang Group was imprisoned for refusing to stop practicing Falun Gong. Her pension has been suspended by the Gangcheng District Social Security Center since July 2020. She was told to return the pension she received during her imprisonment, otherwise her pension would be suspended until it was paid off.

13. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Fu Tianlu, Meng Kunling (gender unknown), Yu Ping (gender unknown), and He Li (gender unknown), were arrested on October 26, 2020. They are currently detained in the Nejiang City Detention Center. Three of them, Ms. Fu Tianlu, Meng Kunling, and Yu Ping, were tried in court but have not yet received the verdicts. He Li was released on bail pending trial after being detained for nearly two months. But she was taken back and detained again three or four months later.

14. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Haiyan Released from Prison

According to the practitioners released from the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison, Ms. Wang Haiyan was released before March 2021. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Pingding County, Shanxi Province] Xi Xiulin Arrested

Ms. Xi Xiulin was arrested at a practitioner’s home on the afternoon of August 2, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was detained in the Yangquan Detention Center and released two weeks later, and placed under residential surveillance. Her daughter has a mental disorder and needs her care. Ms. Xi was tried online by the Pingding County Court in January 2021. She was sentenced to ten months in prison, to be served outside the prison.

Ms. Xi was arrested on July 22, 2021 and is currently being detained in the Yangquan Detention Center. It was said that she would be put in prison this time. Her daughter has been taken to a mental hospital.

16. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Mu Zhitai Arrested and Detained

Mr. Mu Zhitai was monitored and followed by officers from the Fucheng District Police Department and the Chengjiao Police Station for more than six months before he was arrested on June 22, 2021. His home and his rented house were ransacked. The police confiscated his computers, printers, CD makers, etc. Mr. Mu has been detained for more than a month since then.

17. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Hong Shanyu and Liu Ying Harassed or Arrested

Four officers from the Wuyi Police Station in Shigu District and one staff member from the local community went to Ms. Hong Shanyu’s home at around 8 p.m., on July 20, 2021. They asked whether she distributed any flyers and what she did at home. They warned her not to go out to distribute flyers.

Liu Ying (gender unknown) was reported to police for distributing peace cards and was arrested by officers from the Changhu Police Station on July 6, 2021. Liu was released three hours later.

18. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Cao Yanju Arrested

Ms. Cao Yanju, in her 70s, was reported to police for distributing peace cards, and was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on July 18, 2021. She was forced to give her fingerprints, footprints, and a blood sample in the police station. She was released in the afternoon after her family paid the 10,000 yuan fine.

19. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xue Yifang Harassed

Several officers from the Pancheng Police Station in the Jiangbei New District went to Ms. Xue Yifang’s home. They confiscated more than 30 Dafa books and over 40 copies of Minghui Weekly. Ms. Xue was forced to have a blood sample taken and to sign on documents. Ms. Xue has been harassed by the police multiple times and was threatened with being put in prison.

20. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Yu Zongping Arrested and Detained

Yu Zongping (gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Longdong Police Station in Lixia District on July 20, 2021, and was placed under a 5-day detention.

21. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Lei Huixin Arrested

Lei Huixin (gender unknown) was arrested by several officers from the Pulandian Police Station on the afternoon of June 25, 2021.

22. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tian Qiuxia Arrested

Ms. Tian Qiuxia from Shijiazhuang City went to visit a relative in Hengshui City in June 2021. When she was returning home on June 30, 2021, she was intercepted at the North Express entry in Hengshui City and was questioned whether she practiced Falun Gong. The officers in Shijiazhuang City were told to escort Ms. Tian back. After negotiating, the officers in Shijiazhuang City agreed that Ms. Tian would come back on her own after July 1, 2021.

23. [Beijing] Mr. Zhu Jianhua Detained for Nearly One Year

Mr. Zhu Jianhua was reported to police and was arrested in August 2020. He has been detained for nearly a year.

24. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Huoxiu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Huoxiu from Chenglianyu Township of Qidong County, Hengyang City, was arrested and detained by officers in Guangdong Province on July 21, 2021 for posting stickers which had information about Falun Gong.
