Cultivating Myself in the Process of Installing NTD Satellite Receivers

(Minghui.org) In 2010, I learned how to install satellite receivers for watching New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television programs and started to do voluntary installations for different people. Through the process, I have eliminated many human notions, and have seen how happy people are when they have a chance to learn about Dafa.

In my area, two practitioners have taken the lead in this effort. We have walked on this path smoothly due to the protection of the founder of Falun Dafa, Master Li, and fellow practitioners’ help. Here I would like to share my cultivation experiences.

There are many practitioners in this area, and 99% of them have a satellite receiver for NTD. NTD has programs that help the audience learn about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) lies and dissolve everyday people’s misunderstandings about Dafa. The NTD programs are powerful tools to break through the CCP’s lies and are keys to unlock people’s hearts.

We once helped a fellow practitioner to install a receiver. Her husband and her son didn’t support her cultivation in Dafa. When my partner and I arrived, her son didn’t let me work. The fellow practitioner insisted, so we got started with the process. Her son called the police and recorded videos of us working. We sent forth righteous thoughts. I felt a little nervous. By then, we had already finished most of the task. I knew we should not leave, that we should finish the installation.

Nonetheless, I developed fear. After finishing the installation, I rode a motorcycle home. On the way I felt dizzy. I knew that the evil was taking advantage of my fear. Struggling to get home, I asked Master for help. At home I was still dizzy and could not sit up. I sent forth righteous thoughts, lied down, and listened to Master’s lecture. Three hours later, I felt fine.

On the third day, the practitioner told me that the receiver had stopped working, and asked for help. I knew it was a chance for me to get rid of the fear. I sent forth righteous thoughts on the way, with the thought that her son would not see me. I fixed the problem in ten minutes, and her son didn’t show up the entire time.

Our effort was not in vain. Her husband watched the programs and learned the truth about Falun Dafa. He quit the CCP and became supportive of his wife’s beliefs. Her son also changed his attitude after watching the programs. NTD’s programs radiate positive energy, which disintegrate the evil in other dimensions. As a result, the fellow practitioner’s home environment became positive.

We once went to a remote mountain area to install receivers. At the entrance of a village, we ran into three kids. We talked to them and gave each of them printed materials about Falun Gong. We urged them to quit the Communist youth organization the Young Pioneers, but they hesitated.

After installing the receiver for a practitioner, her daughter told us that the kids reported us to the local police, who were now looking for us. We then heard the police sirens. My heart started to beat rapidly. I asked Master for help and sent forth righteous thoughts to get rid of the fear. My partner was not moved, so I calmed down. With Master’s help, the police didn’t find us.

To save more people, some practitioners donate money to purchase receivers, and we install them for everyday people for free. Their selfless actions encouraged other practitioners, who started to recommend NTD to people they knew, keeping us busy installing more receivers. So far, we have installed several hundred receivers in our region. The furthest was 30 miles away from our town. We sometimes have to work all day long and don’t get home until 7:00 p.m. We then study the Fa together before dinner.

As more receivers are installed, more maintenance is required. Moreover, due to the CCP’s interference, NTD must often change its signal parameters, so we get busier. No matter how busy we are, we never miss Fa-study or sending forth righteous thoughts. Fellow practitioners can sometimes help us to do the maintenance with our instructions, but usually we need to do the job ourselves. No matter how exhausting it is, we never complain. We know that it is our responsibility. Master chose us to do this job, so we must do it well.

Fellow practitioners in my area know that we were very busy, so they have helped me to do the farm work. They helped us weed, hoe, and harvest. They told us, “We cannot do the technical work, so we will help you with the farm so that you guys have more time to save people.” We are grateful for their selflessness. We have formed one body in saving people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the receiver at a fellow practitioner’s house in my village stopped working. I asked her to come to my house for a signal searcher, a special piece of equipment to search for TV signals. I told her how to use it and didn’t go to her house myself. The second day, she told me on the phone that she failed to find the signal. I went to her house and discovered that she misconfigured the device. I didn’t know how to fix it, so I manually found the signal for the receiver.

I didn’t complain about her because I knew it was caused by my laziness. When the searcher had problems before, I always asked a practitioner from the city to fix it. But during the pandemic shutdown, the bus stopped running. I needed the searcher to install more receivers and help local practitioners fix their malfunctioning receivers during the pandemic. What should I do?

I went in front of Master’s portrait and admitted to Master that my slacking off caused all these troubles. I promised to correct myself. I asked Master for help and sent forth righteous thoughts. Two days later, a practitioner who is an electrician arrived from a different town. I knew this was Master’s arrangement. Although the shutdown was in effect, he managed to enter my village without issue. I asked him to help. He said he had never worked on a signal searcher. I gave him the product instructions and he was able to quickly fix it. Thank you, Master. Thank you, fellow practitioners.

During the pandemic, a local villager once said that the CCP’s TV programs were full of lies. A fellow practitioner then recommended NTD to him. I installed a receiver for the person for free, but there was a lot of interference. The receiver had no signal. I knew the receiver was fine; it was due to the interference. I sent forth righteous thoughts, but it still had no signal.

I then asked two practitioners who were well-versed on the ins and outs of receivers to join me on the second day. The three of us worked for a long time but failed again. I looked within but didn’t know what was wrong.

I studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts on the third day at home, then went there again. The villager asked me, “Can you do it yourself?” I answered in the affirmative. I turned on the TV and the receiver and the signal showed up right away. I said to him, “Enjoy. Once you learn the truth, you will have a bright future.”

Master said,

“Working hard is part of your cultivation. You need to think of ways to find the people that you are meant to save.” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XI)

Installing receivers is physically demanding for women. My partner and I have experienced hardships that are beyond everyday people’s imagination. We once rode a motorcycle to a remote mountain area. We climbed three high hills, one of which is very steep. We had to concentrate on riding and did not dare relax.

I sent forth righteous thoughts, then suddenly the lyrics of a song composed by a practitioner jumped into my mind: “We overcome all difficulties in order to save sentient beings.” It was 9 p.m. when we finished the installation. We didn’t dare to take the same way back in the dark, so we took a detour. When we got home, it was already midnight.

Looking back at my cultivation over the past ten years while installing NTD receivers, every step I have made, including the physical suffering and xinxing tests, was watched and guided by our benevolent Master. I could not make it without Master’s protection and salvation. The Fa-rectification is now advancing rapidly, and the time to save sentient beings is limited. I need to do my best and not betray Master’s salvation.
