(Minghui.org) The Jiazhou Prison, located in Leshan City in Sichuan Province, is one of the prisons designated to hold and persecute male Falun Gong practitioners in the area. Previously a forced labor farm, it merged with Leshan Shawan Prison to become today’s Jiazhou Prison, with a sign hanging at the entrance which reads, “Chenma Group Co. Ltd.”
This report presents information obtained about the prison in 2019.
About 200 Falun Gong practitioners were detained there in 2019 and subjected to torture and brainwashing for upholding their faith, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. The guards also forced the practitioners and other inmates to work long hours without pay. Most of the income from their labor was pocketed by the guards themselves.
The guards forced all the inmates and Falun Gong practitioners to memorize the prison rules by the sixth day after entering the prison. Those who couldn’t memorize the rules were punished.
Mr. Chen Ming, a practitioner from Santai County, Sichuan Province, was sentenced and taken the Jiazhou Prison. He was dragged to a storage room and ordered to write statements to renounce Falun Gong in September 2019.
When he refused to comply, a guard named Kang Yaolei scooped boiling water with a big spoon and poured it over Mr. Chen’s head. Mr. Chen said later that it felt as if his head was being pricked by countless needles at the same time. He still refused to write the statement.
The next morning, guard Kang dragged Mr. Chen to a water heater without a surveillance camera nearby and ordered him to write the statement again. As he still refused to give in, the guards poured two full pitchers of nearly 1 liter of boiling water onto his head again.
