Italy: Practitioners Raise Awareness About Falun Dafa and Mark 22 Years of Persecution

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Italy held activities to raise awareness of the 22 years of persecution on July 17, 2021. They also called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners who abide by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

The melodious exercise music echoed through the Via dei Fori Imperiali, a road in the center of Rome. Locals and tourists who passed by the road watched the peaceful exercise demonstrations and were shocked to learn of the CCP’s persecution.

After receiving a flyer with information about the practice and how it’s persecuted in China, an elderly Italian person inquired about learning the five sets of exercises. Some young people watched practitioners demonstrating the exercises while others learned them on the spot. Two young Brazilians were upset upon learning about the persecution and asked if they could do anything to bring it to an end. Practitioners suggested that they could spread the word to the people they knew and sign an online petition. The two young Brazilians stated that they knew about Uyghurs in labor camps. After learning about the persecution of Falun Dafa, the young Brazilians said they would further research the vile history of the CCP.

Two young Spaniards wanted to know the reason for the persecution. A practitioner told them that the CCP has been ruling China for 70 years, and during this time the regime has killed over 80 million innocent lives. In addition, it’s also destroyed Chinese traditional culture, morals, and values. Its goal is to ruin one’s morals and destroy man’s faith in God.

Falun Dafa was introduced to the public in the 1990s and revived traditional values. Its practitioners live in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be better people. However, former CCP leader Jiang Zemin instigated this persecution because he was jealous of Falun Dafa. He could not bear seeing so many people practicing the exercises, and thought that it was a threat to his authority. Jiang ordered the persecution, utilizing the full arsenal of the CCP, from its media outlets and the legal system, police, and military, to destroy Falun Dafa practitioners.

Many passersby signed a petition and called for an end to the forced live organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners, Ugyhurs, Tibetans, and Christians. A lawyer who worked at the United Nations signed the petition and stated that it was very important to support it.

The Italian Senate’s Human Rights Commission unanimously passed a resolution, Documento IV-ter n. 7, N. 243, which urges the CCP to immediately release prisoners of conscience, including Falun Gong practitioners, and launch a thorough investigation into forced organ harvesting in China through diplomatic and other channels.
