Sherbrooke, Canada: Candlelight Vigil Protesting the 22-Year-Long Persecution

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil in Sherbrooke, Canada on July 20 to condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 22-year-long persecution. Local people learned about the persecution and expressed their support for Falun Gong practitioners.

Outside city hall, Falun Gong practitioners held up the banners saying “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong” and “Falun Dafa Is Good.” Practitioners held a candlelight vigil.

Practitioners Let People Know About the Persecution

Ms. Mongeau, a Falun Gong practitioner, said: “We are holding a candlelight vigil to call for an end to the CCP’s crimes against humanity. For 22 years, innocent and kind people have been persecuted to death because of their faith.

“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is upright and benefits people. The persecution of such a belief is unconscionable. Falun Gong practitioners in China have persevered by peacefully protesting for a long time.”

A visitor said, “We want them to know that we are fully supporting them and exposing the CCP’s persecution. It is important to let more local people know the crimes committed by the CCP, including the persecution and organ harvesting from living practitioners, and avoid unintentionally becoming accomplices in the CCP’s crimes.”

Some people were touched and signed the postcards to Canadian dignitaries calling to help stop the persecution. They expressed gratitude to the Falun Gong practitioners.

“I support you.” A man said that due to health problems, he began to learn how to write again a few years ago, “Relearning to write during the past four years, I am able to sign the petition today. It’s worth it. I support you 100%.” He also said that he usually saw Falun Gong practitioners doing the exercises outdoors, and he also wished to learn them.

A young man expressed his gratitude to Falun Gong practitioners. He said that he knew that Uyghurs were being persecuted – he was indignant. But it was the first time he had learned of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He said he would search for more information and spread it at his university. It is very important to let people know about the persecution.

After reading the information on the table, a couple talked to Falun Gong practitioners and said that they knew the dangers from actions committed by the CCP. The CCP has infiltrated Europe and even more so Canada. When signing a postcard to a Canadian politician calling for an end to the persecution, the man said: “A signature action is like a drop of water, which will eventually converge into a river.”
