(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 9provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Yurong and Ms. Zhao Cairong Sentenced
Ms. Qi Yurong, Ms. Zhao Cairong, and over 10 practitioners and their family members were arrested between August 15 and 19, 2020 by officers from the Fumeng County Domestic Security Division. Their homes were ransacked.
It was recently learned that Ms. Qi and Ms. Zhao were sentenced to three years in prison. The others practitioners were released.
2. [Ruian City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Liu Jianlin Tried in Court
Mr. Liu Jianlin was tried by the Ruian City Court on June 25, 2021.
Mr. Liu and his family, his wife and his son, have been working and living in Ruian City for many years. He was arrested at his home in 2020 by officers from the Ruian Domestic Security Division after a surveillance system caught him distributing Falun Gong flyers. He has been detained since, and is waiting for the court decision.
3. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xijie Arrested
Mr. Liu Xijie of Nanpi County, Cangzhou City, works in Beijing. He was deceived into going to the local police station, and was arrested there on June 24, 2021. He continues to be held in police custody.
4. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Bihui and Her Family Repeatedly Harassed
Officers from the Dongnan Police Station and clerks from the community went to harass Ms. Chen Bihui at her home on July 2, 2021. She did not let them in. Her husband and her son received harassing phone calls from them on July 4.
She was harassed by six officers and clerks on the morning of July 6, and by eight people in the afternoon. The officers and clerks threatened her husband that she would “jeopardize the future of their son and their granddaughter” if she did not renounce Falun Gong.
5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Feng’e Harassed
Ms. Ren Feng’e was harassed at home by officers led by village accountant Qian Aigang on June 25, 2021. They questioned her and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. She told them the benefits of practice. An officer stopped her and threatened to arrest her if she kept saying good things about Falun Gong. They photographed the number on her identification card.
6. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Zhengping Detained
Ms. Wu Zhengping of Zhongxiang City was arrested in early July 2021 after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Zhongxiang City Detention Center.
7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ai Jinxia Incarcerated
Ms. Ai Jinxia of Changling County was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the Qianguo County Court. She is incarcerated in the Lanjia Women’s Prison, Changchun City.
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Detained
Ms. Zhang Yuhua is being held at the Jilin City Detention Center.
9. [Shanghai] Ms. Qian Peizhen Arrested
Ms. Qian Peizhen was arrested at home in early July 2021. Details are unknown.
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Chengshou Formally Arrested
Mr. Wu Chengshou and his wife, Ms. Wang Xian, were arrested by officers from the Gaoxin District Domestic Security Division on April 20, 2021. Ms. Wang was released on bail. Mr. Wu was transferred to the Weicheng District Domestic Security Division. He was formally arrested, and has been held for 73 days in the Weifang City Detention Center.
Zhang Jie, the Fuyanshan Police Station deputy director, called their son, Mr. Wu Binjie, and ordered him to report to the police station for questioning on June 9. Two days later, on June 11, Ms. Wang was interrogated in the police station. The police tried to build cases against Mr. Wu and his wife, Ms. Wang.
11. [Huyi District, Shaanxi Province] Wang Hua Arrested
Wang Hua (gender unknown) was arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers on July 5, 2021. His or her home was ransacked.
12. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhou Guirong Detained
Ms. Zhao Guirong of Xianyang City was arrested in Xingping City by local police on the afternoon of June 10, 2021 after someone reported her when she distributed Falun Gong flyers. She was taken to the Caihong Police Department, Xianyang City. Her case was submitted to the Qindu District Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhao was imprisoned in the Qindu District Detention Center on the afternoon of June 17, 2021, and was released on the afternoon of July 6, 2021.
13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jianrui Detained
Ms. Li Jianrui of Zanhuang County was arrested and taken to the Chengguan Police Station on July 2, 2021 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was incarcerated in Shijiazhuang City the next day.
14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Qinghong Harassed
Ms. Sun Qinghong is a teacher at the Yushu City No. 2 Middle School. A neighborhood officer from the Zhengyang Police Station called her husband and her son separately on July 6, 2021, threatened them, and ordered them to make her sign documents renouncing Falun Gong.
15. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Yaru and Her Family Harassed
Ms. Gao Yaru’s husband has received harassing phone calls from people from the Changshan Town Community since 2021. The clerks asked for Ms. Gao. They also called her son-in-law, asked for her whereabouts and demanded her daughter’s phone number. None of her family members cooperated. They found the phone number of her son-in-law’s father via big data and asked him about Ms. Gao. He refused to offer any information, either.
On June 29, 2021, four people from the Changshan Town Judiciary Institute, police station, and the community went to her son-in-law’s work unit, and ordered him to take them to his wife. They threatened the couple with their careers, and demanded that they have Ms. Gao sign documents renouncing Falun Gong.
16. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Five practitioners were reading Falun Gong books together in Ms. Zeng Zhaoyue’s home on the afternoon of June 23, 2021 when they were arrested by twenty-some people from the Domestic Security Division, Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Liuyuan Police Station, and the community administration. They were released the same day.
17. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Yingjun Escapes from Police
Mr. Qi Yingjun of Laiwu City was forced leave home to avoid being persecuted. He returned home around July 1, 2021, and was discovered by police via their surveillance system. They blockaded his home. He crawled out of the widow on the fourth floor, and climbed down with a rope. The rope broke while he was in the middle of the air. He fell to the ground and injured his leg. He was helped by strangers and escaped successfully.
His wife was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. His son was threatened, stalked, and harassed by police.
18. [Chongqing] Ms. Yuan Shuxing Detained
Ms. Yuan Shuxing’s youngest daughter was harassed at work by officers from the Liangping District Domestic Security Division and the No. 1 Police Station on June 16, 2021. She was forced to call and ask her mother to go home. Once Ms. Yuan was home, police officers rushed in, ransacked the place, and seized several music players and a tablet.
The police took Ms. Yuan to a detention center on June 23 after subjecting her to a physical exam in a hospital. She was detained for five days and released on June 28.
19. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Zhilan Harassed
Ms. Yang Zhilan, 73, left home around 10:00 a.m. on June 21, 2021. She was intercepted in a stairway and forcibly taken to the community office by people from the Shigu District Political and Legal Affairs Committee and Domestic Security Division.
She did not cooperate with the efforts to force her to renounce her belief. They called her daughter in, went to her home, and ransacked the place. They seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, and 189,000 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them. Ms. Yan blocked them and said, “Over my dead body are you taking my Falun Gong books and the picture of Falun Gong's founder.” They gave in and took away only money and bank certificates.
20. [Wendeng District, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Chunhua Arrested
Ms. Fu Chunhua was arrested by officers from the Wendeng District Domestic Security Division in June 2021 after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ordered her to tell them where she got the flyers. She refused. They threatened to sentence her.
They called her daughter several times and demanded she pressure her mother to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong. They claimed she would be sent back to her hometown for sentencing if she did not do so, and threatened that her two children would be implicated and wouldn’t be able to join the army or work as public servants. Her daughter and her son-in-law were angry at the perpetrators.
