(Minghui.org) When Ms. Shen Xiaona returned home with her child on the evening of April 27, 2021, she was dragged inside by policemen, who were hiding behind the door. The police director Xu Tong hit her in the head and kicked her in the back.

About twenty officers had broken into the home of the Anshan City, Liaoning Province resident earlier. None of them wore their police uniforms. One officer waved his ID in front of Ms. Shen and quickly put it away. Without a search warrant, they ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and jewelry.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Although the police later returned her jewelry, they refused to return her Falun Gong books.

Ms. Shen was brought to the Qidashan Police Station at around midnight. She was tied up in a metal chair, had her blood sample forcibly taken, and was beaten by the police. She has remained in custody since.

After witnessing the police beating Ms. Shen and ransacking their home, Ms. Shen’s child becomes very scared whenever she sees any police officer on the street.

Ms. Shen is not the only local Falun Gong practitioner who has been targeted for their faith. One other example is Ms. Hu Xianying, who was arrested on January 23, 2001, the Chinese New Year Eve. Four officers broke in and carried her downstairs and into their police car. They also ransacked her home. The raid and the arrest traumatized Ms. Hu’s husband and he died not long afterwards. Her daughter was also traumatized by the persecution and developed a heart problem. She would often faint after hearing knocks on the door.

Ms. Hu faced repeated harassment in the years that followed. She later had a mental collapse in 2008 as a result of the persecution.
