We Should Have Compassion for People Who Misunderstand Dafa

(Minghui.org) In the past, when I heard negative comments about Falun Dafa, I became nervous. I disliked that people were spreading lies about the practice because they were influenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda. I thought: Why are they so against Dafa? Their attack is totally unacceptable. My anger made it so much harder for me to clarify the facts to people.

Today, when I was reading Zhuan Falun, I came across the following teaching:

Master said:

“Some people are so closed-minded that they laugh to themselves anytime someone brings up chi-gong. They think the person has fallen for superstition, and that it’s ridiculous. And if you try to talk about certain phenomena in it, they think you are really ignorant. Though these people might be closed-minded, their innate foundations aren’t necessarily poor, and so if they ever try chi-gong they might experience paranormal powers or have higher visions with their inner eye.” (The Sixth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

I suddenly had a new understanding of Teacher Li's words. Those who misunderstand Dafa may not be bad people. They have been fooled by the CCP’s evil lies. The Party brainwashing has caused these people to have atheistic views. But some of them may still have a good foundation, and they may have a good heart.

Why should I look down on them? I should try to see their good side. I should send righteous thoughts to dissolve the evil spirit behind them, and help them see the truth. I felt ashamed of my previous lack of compassion.

When I felt nervous upon hearing people say bad things about Dafa, my faith in the Fa principles was not solid enough. I did not firmly believe that people could understand the truth and seek the divine. Also, I was afraid of potential conflict that might get me in trouble. Without righteous faith, I was not interested in talking with people about Falun Dafa and the persecution. I was blinded by the notion that people are uninterested in hearing the truth.

The CCP atheist propaganda has not only poisoned the general public, but also created negative influences in practitioners. No matter how badly people have been brainwashed, Dafa adherents should maintain righteous thinking, compassion, and faith. We should continue our efforts to tell people the facts about Falun Dafa. We should be able to save more people by persisting in our efforts.
