Additional Persecution News from China – May 3, 2021 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wanrong County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shi Quanfa Arrested

Mr. Shi Quanfa, in his 60s, was arrested by officials from the Wanrong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the Wangxian Township Police Station on April 29, 2021. The police did not give official notice or an explanation to his family. At present, his family does not know where he is.

2. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

The Dongying District Court initially scheduled a hearing for Ms. Wang Xia, Ms. Cui Guifen, and Ms. Wang Muyi on May 18, 2021.

From November 17 to November 18, 2020, the Dongying Domestic Security Division, the Dongying Criminal Investigation Division, and various police stations arrested 11 Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Cui and Ms. Wang Muyi are still being held in custody. Ms. Wang Xia was released on bail for health reasons.

3. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shang Shuqin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Shang Shuqin was sentenced to two years in prison on April 26, 2021. She was taken to prison.

4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wang Kezhen Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Kezhen is scheduled to be tried by the Shushan District Court on May 7, 2021.

5. [Shanghai] Mr. Yan Shougui and Wife Ms. Liu Lanying’s Fingerprints and Blood Samples Forcibly Taken

Approximately twelve officers from the Ganquan Police Station arrived at the home of Mr. Yan Shougui and his wife Ms. Liu Lanying in two vehicles on April 28, 2021. They took the couple to the police station and forcibly took their blood samples and fingerprints.

6. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Genglan Repeatedly Harassed

Recently, Luoyang City government personnel, police and local officials went to the homes of several Falun Gong practitioners to harass them as part of the “zero-out” campaign. They pressured practitioners and their families to sign the “five statements” to renounce their faith. The pressure and intimidation seriously disrupted the normal lives of these families.

Ms. Li Genglan, 87, was harassed at home by five people from the community management office on February 28, 2021.

Over 10 people went to Ms. Li’s home again on March 2. They ransacked her home and confiscated audio recordings of Dafa lectures, over 40 DVDs, and over 20 cards with QR codes allowing people to circumvent online censorship.

Several officers from the Laocheng Police Station went to Ms. Li’s home and harassed her on March 3. On March 4, several people went to her home and forcibly took her blood samples. On March 6, a few people went to her home to collect her handprints with all ten fingers. Every time they went to Ms. Li’s home, they forcibly photographed her, including anyone who was visiting. Ms. Li’s daughter was also forcibly photographed.

Ms. Li has been harassed and persecuted many times, and she has suffered both physically and mentally as a result.

7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Guiping and Ms. Li Ling from Hongtoushan Town, Qingyuan County, were arrested by officers from the Hongtoushan Police Station on the morning of April 28, 2021. They are being held in the Nangou Detention Center.

Mr. Yang Bailiang from Hongtoushan Town was arrested. His family received a phone call on April 28, 2021, and was notified that Mr. Yang was officially arrested.

8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Guisheng Harassed

Mr. Yang Guisheng from Yuejia Village, Shengcheng Sub-district, was harassed at home by three police officers on April 28, 2021. The officers recorded him.

9. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Yu Arrested

Ms. Meng Yu, a teacher of the Dongying No. 1 Middle School, was arrested in mid-April 2021.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ruicai and Ms. Wang Jinting Harassed

Four officers from the Chengguan Police Station in Zhucheng City, led by village official Wang, went to Ms. Wang Ruicai’s home in Lianfeng Community, Mizhou Sub-district, Zhucheng City, on April 23, 2021. They wanted to take pictures of her. She did not cooperate. Instead she told them about Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution of the faith.

Officer Zhu from the police station and others went to Ms. Wang Jinting’s home in the Xinhua Community and harassed her around April 25, 2021. They tried to photograph her, but she refused. Instead she talked to them about Falun Gong.

11. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Hong Shanyu Harassed Again

Two officers from the Wuyi Police Station and a staff member of the community management office went again to Ms. Hong Shanyu’s home and harassed her at 7:50 p.m. on April 23, 2021. They photographed her and told her not to go out.

12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Duan Xianling Harassed

Two police officers led by Wang Haifeng, head of the Duozhuang Town 610 Office, broke into Ms. Duan Xianling’s home in Shimazhuang Village on April 21, 2021. They photographed her. Her husband, under pressure, tried to coerce her to stop practicing Falun Gong.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Ding Xiaoyi Arrested

Ms. Ding Xiaoyi from Yanqing District was arrested by officers from the Haidian Police Station on April 29, 2021, for posting QR codes for unrestricted Internet access in Haidian District.

Officers from the Haidian Police Station and the Yanqing Police Station ransacked Ms. Ding’s home and confiscated ten books, including seven booklets and The Ultimate Goal of Communism Parts I, II, and III. It is not clear where she is being held.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Zhang Qunli Arrested

Elderly practitioner Zhang Qunli (gender unknown) from the Huayang Sub-district was arrested and taken to the Huayang Police Station, Tianfu New Area, by a plainclothes officer on April 26, 2021, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Officers forcibly recorded and photographed Zhang. They questioned Zhang and took notes. The officers did not allow Zhang’s children to take Zhang home until ten o’clock that night.

15. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liu Bingbing and Family Harassed

A total of five people, including staff members of the Maiji District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, head of Shetang Town, and staff members of the Huaiyin Community Management Office, went to Ms. Liu Bingbing’s home on April 29, 2021. They pressured her to sign “four statements” renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened her with her husband’s job and their son’s future education and employment.

They repeatedly slandered the founder of Falun Gong and indoctrinated her parents, younger sister, and younger brother with lies fabricated by the Chinese Communist Party. They also told her family to tear off a couplet posted on their door, watch her closely, and not let her go out. One of them also used a cell phone to record her.

16. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Libin’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Zhang Libin from Mo’erdaoga Town, Ergun City, was arrested in June 2019. She was sentenced to prison and held in the Inner Mongolia Women’s Prison. After returning home from the prison, her pension was suspended. She demanded that her pension be restored. The social security staff members kept telling her that they were not in charge of her pension payment.

17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Li Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Liu Li was arrested on April 14, 2021. She was held in the Hefei City Women’s Detention Center. She was previously sentenced to six years in prison in 2006. Her pension was suspended in the second half of last year.

18. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lang Wanhong Harassed

Officers Li Baozhi and Ai Changyan from the Xiguan Town Police Station, Shuangcheng District, went to Ms. Lang Wanhong’s home in Yuren Village on May 2, 2021. They asked her if she went out these days and forcibly took pictures of her.

19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Detained

Ms. Liu Guihua was caught on video surveillance cameras in the Hengdaluzhou Residential Community, Caidian District, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested at home at noon on April 26, 2021. She was taken to the Erzhigou Women’s Detention Center for 15 days of detention, which would end on May 11.

20. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. He Xiaobo and Ms. Zhang Chunyao Held in Detention Center

Mr. He Xiaobo was held in the Hangzhou Railway Detention Center. He recently returned home.

Ms. Zhang Chunyao is being held in the Ningbo City Detention Center.

21. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Xiangge Harassed

Liu Yuehui and others from the Yikuang Street Justice Agency, Kuancheng District, went to Ms. Liu Xiangge’s home on April 28, 2021. Ms. Liu was not at home at the time. They pressured her husband to sign paperwork, but he refused.

22. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Chen Kefang Faces Trial

Ms. Chen Kefang is scheduled to be tried by the Yunyan District Court on May 13, 2021.
