Ms. Wang Xiubo has been held at the Huma County Detention Center for more than two months. Her son traveled from another city to see her but his visit was denied because she refused to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. After the son got help from other channels, he finally had a virtual meeting with her.
2. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Fengqin and Ms. Quan Jinzi Indicted
Ms. Li Fengqin, 84, was harassed at home by clerks from the community on April 6 and 7, 2021. They demanded she sign a paper. She refused. They then intimidated her son.
The daughter of 82-year-old Ms. Quan Jinzi received a call from Liu Zhi, an officer from the Shengli Police Station, on April 9, 2021. Liu ordered Ms. Quan to report to the police station and said they needed her signature to close the case from last year. Ms. Quan refused to sign anything.
On April 25, police called Ms. Quan’s daughter nine times to discuss how to meet Ms. Quan.
On the afternoon of April 26, Ms. Quan and Ms. Li were driven to the Huadian City Procuratorate by officer Zhang Chunguang and others from the Domestic Security Division. The procuratorate did not accept the case. The officers then took the practitioners to the Changyi District Procuratorate, where they received notifications from the procuratorate.
On the afternoon of April 27, 2021, the daughter of Ms. Quan and the son of Ms. Li Fengqin were taken to the Changyi District Procuratorate by police and signed papers.
3. [Shanghai] Police Demand to Take Ms. Li Li’s Blood Sample
Officers from the Ganquan Police Station went to Ms. Li Wenjuan’s home on the morning of April 29, 2021. They demanded to see her daughter, Ms. Li Li, and take her blood sample. After they learned she was at work, they claimed they would go to her work unit, and if she did not comply, they would make her lose her job.
4. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ma Lingxian and Ms. Han Meng Harassed
Ms. Ma Lingxian was harassed at home by officers from the Guoyuan Police Station on April 27, 2021. The officers said their boss had them check her home. They tried to make a video recording, but Ms. Ma stopped them.
Ms. Han Meng received a phone call on April 28, 2021. The caller claimed to be from the Guoyuan Police Station and said they would go to her home for confirmation. Afterwards, three people showed up downstairs at her home and called her. One was an officer from the Domestic Security Division. One was a deputy director from the police station. The third one in plainclothes held a video recorder. They had her confirm her address, asked for some information about her family, and left.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Li Yun Arrested
Li Yun (gender unknown) went home after work on the afternoon of April 25, 2021, and was arrested near his or her apartment by six or seven officers from the Guihu Police Station. The officers seized all of Li’s personal belongings.
6. [Huaibei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Chen Suying Sentenced
Ms. Chen Suying was arrested in August 2020. She was sentenced to five years in prison and taken to the Hefei Women’s Prison.
7. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Wang Shanjun Tried in Court
Mr. Wang Shanjun was tried by the Yingzhou District Court on April 15, 2021.
8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Wang Mingyan received a call from a temporary office of the Linyi City Knitting Mill on April 25, 2021. The caller demanded she report to the office and sign a paper renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.
Mr. Xu Zenghuan and his wife, Ms. Guo Jiaping, were harassed at home by Yan Rubo and others from the temporary office of the Linyi City Knitting Mill on April 27, 2021. The harassers demanded the couple’s signatures. Ms. Guo refused. Mr. Xu was not at home.
At 8:00 p.m. the same day, two people from the temporary office went to Ms. Wang Mingyan’s home again. She did not open the door. Four people went to her home at 6:00 p.m. on April 28. She did not open the door, either.
9. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Ma Yuxiu was harassed at home by officers from the Xindian Town Police Station on April 13, 2021. The officers ransacked the place, broke a large armoire, and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books.
Ms. Liu Baozhi was harassed at home the same afternoon by six officers from the Xindian Town Police Station. The officers ransacked the place in front of her 89-year-old mother-in-law and five-year-old granddaughter. They videotaped the entire process and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and two video players.
Yuan Ruixiang (gender unknown) was harassed by six officers from the Xindian Town Police Station the same day.
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Gao Yukun Arrested
On March 26, 2021, a clerk from the Beiguan Residents Committee pretended to be giving vaccinations and had Gao Yukun (gender unknown) and Ms. Wang Guifen open their door. Six people rushed in and started to videotape. Ms. Wang asked where they were from. They said they were from the Dongguan Police Station.
They first arrested and took away Gao, then seized six pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, six lotus flowers, two copies of Zhuan Falun, a computer, and a USB drive. They ordered Ms. Wang to sign. She refused. Gao was given a physical exam in the Weifang No. 2 People’s Hospital. It was said that Gao did not pass the exam and was released at 7:00 p.m.
11. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Harassed
Since April 2021, the Laizhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Domestic Security Division issued joint orders to all police stations, town governments, and brigades to have practitioners in their jurisdictions sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong. In some cases, the practitioners’ families were intimidated into pressuring the practitioners to sign it.
Ms. Guo Honglan, Ms. Sun Shouju, Ms. Liang Guilan, Yuan Qinghua (gender unknown), Ms. Pan Ruihua, and Ms. Zhang Jixia of Shahe Town were harassed on April 19 and 20, 2021.
Mr. Guo Honghao and his wife Ms. Yang Jinfeng of Guojia Village were taken to the Shahe Town Police Station by village committee personal. Their MP3 player, Falun Gong calendars, and other items were seized from their home. Mr. Guo had muscle spasms and lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital. After the hospital did not admit him, the couple was released.
12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Zhaoying Harassed
Ms. Hou Zhaoying received a call from the residential committee on the morning of April 8, 2021. She was told that officers from the Chengyang Police Station would visit her home. Five officers went to her home at 4:00 p.m. on April 9. When she was not at home they went to her work unit. One of them recorded the process on his cell phone. She then used her cell phone to record them. They stopped her. They told her she could practice at home, but could not distribute flyers outside. One threatened that they won’t be so nice if she did not obey. Before they left, they warned her not to send the recording to Minghui.org.
13. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Harassed
Gao Jiushen (gender unknown) was harassed at work by three officers from the Gangcheng Police Department and the Tanggang Police Station on April 27, 2021. The officers asked if Gao still practiced Falun Gong. A young officer covertly recorded the proceedings while the lead officer talked to Gao.
Ms. Yang Wenhua was harassed at home by officers from the Tangshan City Police Station around April 15, 2021. They came with a police camcorder and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. She did not comply.
Li Quandong (gender unknown), Li Kezhao (gender unknown), Guo Hongxia (gender unknown), and Yao Huirong (gender unknown) of Liuhengtuo Village were harassed at home by officers from the Angezhuang Police Station on the evening of April 12, 2012.
14. [Kuancheng County, Hebei Province] Fourteen Practitioners Harassed
Liu Shuge, Bai Cuihua, Guo Cuilian, Zhou Xiuyun, Shi Feng’e, Xu Fengying, Shi Hanlin, Xia Guiqin, Wang Fengying, Sun Yushuang, Shi Fengping, Shi Shouzhu, Kong Suge, and Zhu Fengyun were harassed at home on April 26, 2021. Three officers from the Tangdaohe Town Police Station knocked on the door of every known practitioner on their list in Dashizhuzi Township. One of them had a small camcorder in front of his chest. They asked the practitioners if they had Falun Gong materials at home, what were their cell phone numbers, if they had computers or cars, etc.
15. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Zhang Kuiju’s Family Harassed
The family of Zhang Kuiju (gender unknown) was harassed by officers from the Dongyuan Police Station and residential committee securities on the morning of April 30, 2021. It was said that the district gave orders to record practitioners, and, if the practitioner cooperated, his or her name would be removed from their “black list.” Since Zhang was not at home, they recorded Zhang’s mother.
16. [Hengyang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Junnan’s Home Monitored
Mr. Peng Junnan, 78, is a retired middle school teacher. Hengyang County police installed a surveillance camera in front of his home on April 21, 2021. His family feels intimidated and frightened.
17. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Eight Practitioners Incarcerated in Lanzhou City No. 1 Detention Center
Ms. Wang Mei, Li Ya (gender unknown), Ms. Li Dongmei, Wei Jun (gender unknown), Ms. Ma Jun, Qi Yulian (gender unknown), Ms. Liang Ailing, and Ms. Cui Chengxiang are being held at the Lanzhou City No. 1 Detention Center.
18. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yanxia Sentenced
Ms. Liu Yanxia’s family received a call from the Ranghulu District Court on April 12, 2021. She was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 40,000 yuan. Her salary deposit account was frozen. Her family refused to pay the fine.
19. [Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yuling Indicted
Ms. Zhang Yuling works in the 855 Farm, Mudanjiang Farmland Bureau, Heilongjiang Reclamation Area. The Jiansanjiang Farm Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant against her on September 21, 2020.
Ms. Zhang was incarcerated in the Jixi City Detention Center by the Mudanjiang Police Department. Her case was submitted to the Jiansanjiang Farmland Bureau Procuratorate.
20. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Aiwen Harassed
Two men in plainclothes came in a police car on April 29, 2021. They banged on the door of Ms. Han Aiwen’s home. She was away taking care of an elderly relative in another city. Her son and his girlfriend were at home. They did not open the door. The men began kicking the door. One held a card, but no one was able to see it clearly. He then said he was a police officer and demanded the door be opened. He threatened her son, “You can be arrested for hindering police investigation. I am about to blow up the lock by force.”
