Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia: Falun Dafa Practitioners Commemorate the April 25 Peaceful Appeal

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy at Jakarta, and the Consulate-General of China in Surabaya, commemorating a peaceful appeal made in Beijing 22 years ago.

About 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners spontaneously gathered at the Central Appeals Office in Beijing. They were asking that the government release 45 practitioners who were arrested by Tianjin officials. Practitioners also peacefully appealed for a free cultivation environment.

Peaceful Appeal in Jakarta

Practitioners displayed banners and truth-clarification posters to call for an end of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners who are illegally detained for their beliefs, as well as the organ harvesting of living Falun Dafa practitioners. They were also calling to bring Jiang Zemin, the main culprit and instigator behind the persecution, to justice since he has committed crimes against humanity and genocide of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

As practitioners hung up banners and set up truth-clarification posters, the Director of the Indonesian Falun Dafa Association, who is also a director of a non-governmental organization in Indonesia, called for an end to the 22-year-long persecution of Falun Dafa.

The director of the Legal Aid Institute, also known as Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Indonesia (YLBHI), also sent their remarks and support: “The YLBHI support anyone, including the actions and speech of Falun Dafa practitioners.”

Peaceful Appeal at Surabaya

Falun Dafa practitioners from Surabaya also gathered at the Consulate-General of China, commemorated the April 25 peaceful appeal, and held a candlelight vigil on the same day. Many passersby admired and supported practitioner’s persistence in exposing the CCP’s evil nature, and in raising awareness of Falun Dafa.

Many local residents from Jakarta, including two middle-aged women, showed their support for the practitioners' efforts. The women stated that they keep the practitioners in their prayers.

A Chinese couple and their two children expressed their support for Falun Dafa. Upon hearing the melody for the third standing exercise. The husband said: “This music sounds beautiful!” Another bystander said that he was aware of the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa, but had not heard of the organ harvesting from living practitioners. He said: “This is too brutal and is absolutely intolerable.”

In the evening, practitioners lit candles to commemorate the thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who have been brutally persecuted and lost their lives under the CCP regime, simply because of their persistence in following the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
