(Minghui.org) An 80-year-old Wuhan City, Hubei Province resident was arrested on the evening of March 28, 2021, for his faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Zhou Xiancheng’s son went to the police station on April 3 to demand his release. The police only returned the 1,000 yuan cash confiscated from Mr. Zhou during his arrest, but refused to release him.
Mr. Zhou’s wife has Alzheimer's disease and because all of their children work out of town, she is now left in a dire situation without Mr. Zhou’s care.
In the past 22 years, Mr. Zhou has been arrested eight times for practicing Falun Gong. Prior to his latest arrest, he was arrested on March 15, 2015, for talking to people about Falun Gong and was detained at the Xinzhou District Detention Center. After two hearings by the Xinzhou Court on June 15 and July 17, 2015, respectively, he was sentenced to three years at the Fanjiatai Prison on July 20.
