Dafa Practitioners’ Notions About Prophecies May Have Negative Impact

(Minghui.org) Recently I have realized that obsessions with prophecies can have a major impact on practitioners. If a large number of practitioners are influenced by prophecies, they could even affect the situation we are facing. Therefore, although a number of very good articles have appeared on Minghui, I would still like to share my understanding here so that we don’t leave regrets for the future.

Why do prophecies exist in the first place? Why were some of them accurate? My understanding is that divine beings have written a script for the divinely-inspired civilization in this human world. Like a movie spoiler, a prophecy gives the hint of the divine’s existence so as to lay the foundation for people’s future opportunity to cultivate in Falun Dafa. Therefore, some prophecies were accurate in the past before Master began the Fa-rectification process.

But the situation changed after Master began to rectify the Fa. There is no fixed script agreed upon by divine beings since Master can make adjustments based on the actual situation. Other than Master, no one knows what would happen next.

Master has said,

“The future of the cosmos that beings at different levels have seen actually doesn’t exist and is an illusion. At present, humankind’s every day is arranged according to Dafa’s needs; Dafa disciples’ performance in the human world is to be left for history.” (“What Are Supernormal Abilities,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)

Master also said,

“Dafa disciples can't do things according to some prophecy, though. You should do things according to the Great Law! You should do things according to what Dafa disciples should do! And you shouldn't do things by following something else.” (“Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. III)

Only by remaining clear on these issues can we practitioners avoid being interfered with.

Regarding Shen Yun, Master said,

“Shen Yun will definitely perform in China. (Enthusiastic applause) [When that will happen] depends on how the Fa-rectification progresses and the overall timing of the Fa-rectification.” (Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference)

If practitioners are doing well, we would be able to harmonize what Master wants for Shen Yun. This will move things in a positive direction for many people to be saved. Otherwise, the old forces can take advantage of our loopholes, push things in an undesirable direction, and make many people unable to be saved.

We should not be attached to the end time for the Fa-rectification either. Master said,

“You should do the things you should do in a normal way. If tomorrow is Consummation, today you still won't know it, and suppose you're thinking about opening a business, then just go ahead and do it. But I'll harmonize everything for you. Don't think about anything! Just do whatever you're supposed to do. (Warm applause)” (“Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. II)

Can we achieve this? I know some young practitioners in China who refuse to find a job. This has confused some everyday people, making it difficult for them to understand Dafa. Maybe we should look within to examine if we have an attachment to time. We can probably do better to avoid misunderstandings by everyday people. Otherwise, previous efforts to have these people understand Dafa could have been in vain. We have to pay attention to this.

I was thinking of writing this article last week but encountered a lot of interference as soon as I had the idea to write. Although I began to practice Dafa prior to the persecution in 1999, I have not done well, and the old forces may have excuses to cause trouble.

Master said,

“Can't a person who isn't perfect tell you to do well? Can't a person who's made mistakes tell others to do well? What kind of logic is that? How many people have thought this over carefully?” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)

Since I have realized this, I decided to write it out as a sharing article. If we can do better as one body, it would help Master with Fa-rectification.
