Additional Persecution News from China – March 12, 2021 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yin Lanhua Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Yin Lanhua from Bolin Town, Longshan District, was sentenced to four years in prison. She was taken to the Changchun City Women’s Prison on March 10, 2021.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Fan Jirong Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Staff from the Changping District Court went to Ms. Fan Jirong’s home on November 27, 2020, where they held a trial. They went to her home again on December 3 and announced that she was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Fan appealed to the intermediate court. A judge and two other people from the intermediate court went to her home to announce the result of the second trial. The original four-year prison term was upheld, but the 10,000 yuan fine was dropped.

3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms.Yi Qiongying, Xie Yuzhen (gender unknown), Ms. Wu Guifang, and Chen Yingbei (gender unknown) were arrested by five plainclothes officers and taken to the Jiahe Police Station at a farmers' market on the morning of March 10, 2021. They were body searched and questioned.

The officers took from Xie’s bag over 100 yuan paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them. Ms. Yi was taken to the Yongxing Detention Center, and the other three practitioners were released around 10 p.m.

4. [Beijing] Case Against Ms. Wang Zhaoying Brought to Court

Ms. Wang Zhaoying from Yanqing District has been held in custody for over six months. The case against her was brought to the Yanqing District Court by the Yanqing District Procuratorate. Ms. Wang’s family received a call from the court on March 4, 2021, and learned that she would soon be tried.

5. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhang Xiuqi Held in Custody

Mr. Zhang Xiuqi, in his 50s, from Hongshan District, was arrested on February 15, 2021. He has remained in custody.

6. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Meng Xianru Detained

Ms. Xu Lihua, 66, was held in custody. Her daughter Ms. Meng Xianru recently went to the Liuyang City Procuratorate to inquire about her mother’s case and delivered a letter of appeal to a prosecutor’s home. Ms. Meng was reported to the police.

She was arrested at her mother’s home by officers from the Jili Police Station around 6 p.m. on February 2, 2021. She was taken to the Xihu Police Station for interrogation. She was taken to the Liuyang City Police Department to collect her personal information that evening. She was detained for seven days, and has returned home.

7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Shi Hongxiang (gender unknown), Mr. Zhu Qinghua, Ms. Lin Guilan, and Ms. Yang Xiaozhi from Hongtoushan Town, Qingyuan County, went to Huangqizhai Town, Kaiyuan County, Tieling City, to distribute information about Falun Gong on March 10, 2021. They were arrested by the local police.

8. [Da’an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shuqin, 74, lives in Da’an City. Her daughter in Beijing became seriously ill and was admitted to the hospital recently. Her two young children were left at home unattended. Ms. Zhao was arrested around March 9, 2021 at the Changchun Railway Station when she was traveling to the Tongzhou District in Beijing to take care of her grandchildren. She is being held in Da’an City.

9. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Zhang Ying Arrested

Zhang Ying (gender unknown) was arrested on February 8, 2021. Zhang is being held in the Dazhou Detention Center.

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Suzhi and Her Sister Ms. Qi Suyun Arrested

Ms. Qi Suzhi and her sister Ms. Qi Suyun were reported to the police when they distributed information about Falun Gong in a residential community. They were arrested and taken to the Jiefang Road Police Station on March 9, 2021. They have returned home.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Zhang Baoling, Ms. Jiang Shubo, and Ms. Ci Meiyun from Fuzhoucheng Town, Wafangdian City were scheduled to be tried on March 12, 2021.
