(Minghui.org) At least seven residents of Dalian City, Liaoning Province were sentenced to prison by the Pulandian City Court around December 2020 for their faith in Falun Gong.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Du Yongfeng was sentenced to nine years.Ms. Zhang Chunfeng was sentenced to seven years.Ms. Fan Yongmei was sentenced to four years. She has appealed the verdict. Ms. Zhang Liping was sentenced to three years with a 20,000-yuan fine. She has been released on medical parole.Ms. He Yongqin was also sentenced to three years. She is currently held at the Yaojia Detention Center. Ms. Wei Duo and her husband Mr. Chu Zhengjie were each sentenced to one year. 

The seven practitioners were among at least 30 practitioners and their family members who were arrested in a police sweep in six districts between July 10 and 11, 2020. Most practitioners had their homes ransacked. Ms. He’s factory was also raided by the police. 

Mr. Du’s wife was arrested together with him. She was released later on.

The police raided Ms. Fan's home and confiscated three printers and three boxes of small media players that she had planned to give to other practitioners in their truth-clarification efforts to raise awareness about the persecution. 

Ms. Wei and Mr. Chu were released on bail on July 12 to take care of their younger brother and sister, who both have physical disabilities.
