Awakening the Conscience of Sentient Beings With a Pure Heart

(Minghui.org) Dafa practitioners have the responsibility to assist Master Li in clarifying the truth to awaken the conscience of sentient beings by using various methods. Our Fa study group discussed the issue in detail.

As we approach the Chinese Lunar New Year, practitioners have been busy making and distributing informational materials with the Chinese character for good fortune printed on them to allow more people to learn about the goodness of Falun Dafa. It’s important for practitioners to keep righteous thoughts and pure hearts when making these materials.

One practitioner went to the market and saw several discarded fliers and picked them up. At home, she noticed how poorly they were made, and we all agreed with her opinion.

To be able to quickly make and distribute more of these materials, some practitioners bought pre-made couplets with good fortune written on them and then stamped the phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” on them.

They did not use the template provided by the Minghui website, using the excuse that it was too much trouble and time-consuming. They said that they could produce more in less time by using their own method and that it was easier for people to accept.

Master said,

“By contrast, in mainland China nowadays, when people do business they want to make a quick deal, and they want to move their goods as soon as they arrive. They figure that a buck made is still a buck, and they pay no attention to prestige, credibility, or branding. And what's the end result? They end up with nothing. We can't go about things that way. We need to ensure our quality and the reputation we have in society, and doing so will be to our benefit down the road as we save more sentient beings.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IX)

Which is a better way of making the flier? I believe we will know what to do if we take Master’s teachings to heart.

The template made by practitioners and published on the Minghui website is not only colorful but also contains profound inner meanings and righteous energy. But some practitioners mixed their human notions, personal preferences, and other attachments into the process. Wouldn’t these attachments affect our goal of awakening the conscience of sentient beings?

It is understandable that practitioners are eager to awaken the conscience of people, but shouldn’t we consider the standards set by Master? Once we keep that in mind, it is easy to figure out how to do things.
