Canada: Young Falun Dafa Practitioners in Vancouver Wish Master Li a Happy Lantern Festival
(Minghui.org) Since the CCP virus (coronavirus) outbreak last March, young Falun Dafa practitioners in Vancouver's Minghui School have been studying the Falun Dafa teachings and doing the exercises as a group online. These young students aged 4 to 14 also have online music lessons once a week and sing songs composed by Dafa practitioners.
Through reading the Falun Dafa teachings in Chinese, they've learned many Chinese characters. They started off barely knowing any Chinese words and progressed to reading Zhuan Falun in Chinese for the fourth time. They've read the English language version of Zhuan Falun twice and have also read Hong Yin II once. Most of them are now able to read the teachings with their parents' help.
Stability in a Confusing World
The young practitioners and their teachers wished to tell Falun Dafa's founder, Master Li Hongzhi, “Thank you, Master! We are fortunate to become practitioners. On the occasion of the Lantern Festival, young practitioners present Master with the best gift by learning well. Falun Dafa has given us young practitioners in the Vancouver branch of the Minghui School a piece of pure land in this complex world where moral values are declining. Thank you, Master! We wish you a happy Lantern Festival!”
The students recently began to memorize Zhuan Falun one paragraph at a time. This helps them study more attentively, and they can recall what they've read and follow the principles whenever they encounter challenges in their daily lives.
These children experienced great changes through reading Dafa books. Those who were once hooked on playing computer games improved after memorizing Master’s teachings about computer games and sending righteous thoughts to control their addiction. Some eliminated their habit within a week, while others significantly reduced the time they spent gaming. Their parents are gratified to see their improvement.
Practicing Dafa has also unlocked the children’s wisdom and made it easier for them to learn new things at school. Their grades have greatly improved, and they made significant progress in their art studies.
These young practitioners are able to look within for shortcomings whenever they run into conflicts with others. Theirs teachers have praised them for their demeanor. In a world dominated by “modern” thinking and behavior, parents have less to worry about because their children are able to distinguish good from bad using Falun Dafa's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance to guide them.
These young practitioners’ sense of responsibility toward cultivation and saving people have grown stronger. They take the initiative to participate in local events to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China, such as demonstrating the exercises at tourist attractions, holding banners outside Chinese consulate offices, attending car tours with their parents, and handing out newsletters.
The teachers at Minghui School are also parents. Teaching these young practitioners provides an opportunity for parents and teachers to improve in their own cultivation.
