(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Gao Jufang Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Gao Jufang, 63, was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials in a residential community on August 5, 2020. She was arrested. The police ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and all her Falun Dafa books. She was held in a detention center. It was reported recently that she was sentenced to three years in prison.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Luo Taixiu and Ms. Deng Wanying Facing Trial
Ms. Luo Taixiu and Ms. Deng Wanying from Yongchuan District are scheduled to be tried by the Lu County Court on February 3, 2021.
3. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Suting and Ms. Li Sujian Harassed
Ms. Li Suting and Ms. Li Sujian from Nanhan Village, Liman Township, Raoyang County, were harassed by the county police and township police on January 25, 2021. The officers ransacked their homes with electric batons in hand and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal belongings.
4. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Jiang Xiaoli and Ms. Jia Liying Arrested
Ms. Jiang Xiaoli and Ms. Jia Liying were arrested by chief Geng of the Pingcheng District Police Department and director Wang of the Dongjie Police Station on January 19, 2021. The officers ransacked Ms. Jiang’s home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, 13 printers, and paper currency with Falun Gong facts written on them. Ms. Jiang is now quarantined in the Datong City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The officers ransacked Ms. Jia’s home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, and 130,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong facts written on them. She is being held in Zuoyun County.
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yonghua Displaced
Ms. Wang Yonghua is a retired senior engineer of the Wuhan Harbour Engineering Design Institute. Her son is also a Dafa practitioner who became mentally impaired as a result of severe abuse he endured in Fanjiatai Prison for his faith. He was just released not too long ago.
Ms. Wang was harassed during the authorities’ recent “zero-out” campaign to force Falun Dafa practitioners to renounce their faith. She was recently displaced. People broke into her home several times in an attempt to take her to a brainwashing center. They threatened that if she did not write “five statements,” she would lose her medical care and her pension would be stopped completely.
Ms. Cui, who is retired and lives nearby, also became displaced.
6. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Jiping Harassed
Qi Gang, head of the Security Department of Huili County People’s Hospital, often calls to harass Ms. Luo Jiping’s son.
Qi called Ms. Luo’s son again on January 28, 2021, and told Ms. Luo to go to the hospital to discuss her pension.
Ms. Luo went to the hospital on January 29. Deputy president Deng Bin asked her to return her pension of over 100,000 yuan, which she received from 2016 to 2018. Deng said that was ordered by the personnel bureau at a higher government level.
She told Deng that she had been put through wrongful treatment as deducting her pension was illegal, and she had filed complaints and was about to file lawsuits. Later she gave them a copy of the complaint.
7. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Huang Xiaoyan, Ms. Li Zhirong, Ms. Jiang Guozhen, and Lin Deyu (gender unknown) were harassed at home by several staff members from the Songlin Town Comprehensive Management Office since January 2021.
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Guihong Repeatedly Harassed
Ms. Zhu Guihong was harassed several times by the police. They later called Ms. Zhu’s son and had him sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong on behalf of his mother.
9. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Qin Arrested
Officers from the Yingqiu Police Station broke into Ms. Song Qin’s home on January 21, 2021. She was released that evening. Her car was impounded.
10. [Shanghai] Mr. Wang Zhiliang Repeatedly Harassed
Mr. Wang Zhiliang, 72, from No. 2 Donggou Village, Pudong New Area, was repeatedly harassed by residential committee personnel. They wanted to have a talk with him, which he refused.
11. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Hong Shanyu Harassed Again
Huang Xin and others in Wuyi Community, Shigu District, once again went to Ms. Hong Shanyu’s home and harassed her on January 26, 2021. They took pictures of her and told her not to go out to talk to people about Falun Gong or she would be arrested. She strongly resisted the harassment and threat.
12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hong Guimei and Husband Mr. Dou Yansheng Threatened
Ms. Hong Guimei and her husband Mr. Dou Yansheng from Changqingcheng Residential Community, Dongxi District, were released on bail in July 2020.
They were officially placed under arrest by the Dongxi District Procuratorate on January 28, 2021. The police took both practitioners to the hospital for physical examinations and threatened to imprison them.
13. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Hongwei Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Mr. Gao Hongwei, an executive of a company in Dongying City, was arrested and his home ransacked on November 25, 2018. He was held in the Liuhu District Detention Center.
Seventh months into his custody, he was sentenced to four years in prison. He was transferred to the Shandong Province Prison on January 5, 2021. So far, his family members have not been allowed to visit him.
14. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Guizhi Arrested
Ms. Chen Guizhi from Kuaida Town was arrested by six or seven officers from the Kuaida Town Police Station on January 28, 2021. The officers confiscated a laptop, a printer, printer paper, audio players, and a cell phone. She refused to cooperate with them. She was released that afternoon.
15. [Beijing] Eleven Practitioners Held in Custody
Practitioners Xu Na, Li Zongze, Meng Qingxia, Zheng Yanmei, Zheng Yujie, Zhang Renfei, Liu Qiang, Deng Jing, Jiao Mengjiao, Li Lixin, and Li Jiaxuan were arrested in July 2020 on charges of “provoking trouble.” They were officially placed under arrest on August 28, 2020.
On November 21, 2020, the Dongcheng District Procuratorate returned the case files to the Dongcheng District Police Department due to insufficient evidence.
On January 21, 2021, the Dongcheng District Procuratorate returned the case file to the Dongcheng District Police Department for the second time, for the same reason of insufficient evidence.
