(Minghui.org) A Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province resident was secretly sentenced to four years for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Qin Hongying was arrested on February 10, 2020 for putting up informational posters about Falun Gong. She was held at the Shahe County Detention Center.
A person who was held in the same cell with her later told a local Falun Gong practitioner that Ms. Qin was secretly sentenced to four years and has been taken to the Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison.
According to available information collected by Minghui, at least 193 Falun Gong practitioners have been held at the Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison in the past two decades. Three practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Shujun, Ms. Li Liefeng, and Ms. Luo Chunrong, were persecuted to death. Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Qingyun, suffered a mental breakdown as a result of the torture.
The common torture methods used in the prison include sleep deprivation, beating, hanging up, and solitary confinement.
