(Minghui.org) Six Yingkou City, Liaoning Province residents were arrested in 2018 for distributing informational materials that exposed the true history of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Five of them were later sentenced to prison. While the sixth practitioner was released due to her poor health back then, the authorities nevertheless ordered her arrest and court trial three years later.
Ms. Zhang Yuxia went with Ms. Jin Cuixiang, Ms. Han Xuesong, Ms. Han Meiling, Ms. Xu Xiaoyan, and Ms. Liu Aimin to the nearby Dalian City, about 150 miles away, to distribute the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a book that exposes the CCP’s massacre, tyranny, and brainwashing of the Chinese people, on the evening of January 13, 2018.
All six women are practitioners of Falun Gong. Given the ongoing persecution and massive propaganda attacking their faith by the CCP since 1999, they said it’s imperative for the Chinese people to know how the CCP has been deceiving and killing Chinese people all along.
While the women were driving on the street, a police car suddenly stopped them, and one officer shouted that there were fugitives inside. As soon as the practitioners stopped, a group of officers surrounded their car. Two stacks of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party were confiscated from the vehicle.
The six practitioners were taken to the Liguan Town Police Station. Ms. Zhang failed the physical examination and was released after paying the police 5,000 yuan. The other five practitioners were taken to the Dalian Detention Center the next day.
The five practitioners stood trial at Wafangdian District Court in Dalian on November 5, 2018. Ms. Jin was sentenced to 4 years with an 8,000 yuan fine. Ms. Han Xuesong was sentenced 3.5 years with an 8,000 yuan fine. Ms. Han Meiling was sentenced to 2 years with a 5,000 yuan fine. Both Ms. Liu and Ms. Xu were sentenced to 1 year with a 3,000 yuan fine.
Ms. Liu and Ms. Xue finished serving their time at the detention center and were released on January 12, 2019. The other three practitioners were transferred to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on February 26, 2019. Ms. Han Meiling has been released on January 12, 2020 and Ms. Han Xuesong on July 12, 2021. Ms. Jin is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2022.
For Ms. Zhang, the Dalian police arrested her again on April 1, 2021. She was found to have severe diabetes and was rejected admission by the Dalian Detention Center.
The police nevertheless arrested her one more time on September 7. She was admitted by the detention center this time and was tried seven days later on September 14, by a different court, the Pulandian District Court.
