(Minghui.org) When Mr. Zhang (alias) called the Toronto Quit Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Hotline for the first time, he intended to cause trouble and keep the line busy so that no one else could call in. But after talking with the hotline volunteer, he changed his mind. Two months later, 59 of his classmates also quit the Party. What exactly happened?

A CCP Supporter Changes His Mind

Ms. Li Jing is a volunteer with the Quit CCP Hotline in Toronto. She remembered the day Zhang called the hotline.

“He said he was a college student and he wanted to quit the CCP. But when I started to explain why it was important for him to quit, he cursed me and verbally abused Falun Gong, so I knew right away that he was one of those CCP fans who was hired to cause trouble,” she said.

Ms. Li stayed calm and said, “Mr. Zhang, cursing doesn’t do you any good.” She then told him several stories about ancient people with great virtue who had great wealth. He became very interested and listened.

Over the course of half an hour, Ms. Li explained the meaning of quitting the CCP and answered his questions. He then agreed to quit the CCP with the alias “Zhang Tianyou.”

Ms. Li said, “Now you understand why you’ll be blessed for quitting the CCP. Please also remember the auspicious phrases ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and you will have a bright future. In addition, now you have a good opportunity to gain more blessings.”

“What do you mean I have a ‘good opportunity to gain blessings?’”

“If you pass this message on to your friends and encourage them to quit the CCP, they will be blessed and you will gain a lot of virtue because you are helping to save people.”

He replied, “OK, I’ll try.”

Classmates Quit the CCP

About two months later when Ms. Li answered the hotline phone, the caller said, “Are you Ms. Li Jing? Do you remember the college student Zhang Tianyou? He is my classmate. He told us about quitting the CCP. Now the whole class wants to quit. Please get your pen ready for the names.”

He quit the CCP with the alias “Wang Houde” and gave her the names of 11 other students.

Ms. Li asked him why they wanted to quit the CCP. He replied, “After Zhang Tianyou quit the CCP, he told us to do it, too. At first, we ignored him, but then we noticed that he was chanting some words every day and after a while, his grades really improved. Now he’s the second-best student in the class. We were curious to know what happened, so we listened to what he had to say about quitting the CCP. That’s why I called you.”

Ms. Li told Wang about the importance of virtue and why people were blessed if they recited the auspicious phrases with all due sincerity.

When he asked where he could read more stories like the ones she’d told Zhang, she told him how to bypass the internet censorship and get free information from websites outside of China.

Wang Houde said, “Many of my classmates are Party members. But I am not because I haven’t submitted the form yet.”

Ms. Li asked, “Are all college students joining the Party nowadays? I remember when I went to school, only members of the student council were qualified to apply for Party membership, and they also had to pass a strict background check.”

“It’s different now. Anyone can join the Party simply by filling out a form. I just don’t want to do it.”

After that, Ms. Li received several similar calls, all from college students who said they got the hotline number from Wang Houde. Ms. Li ended up with a list of 59 students in total.
