Clarifying the Facts with Rationality

(Minghui.org) A friend recently invited me to her place for a small get together. This was a great opportunity for me to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa, so I brought along brochures, QR code cards, and amulets. 

As we chatted away, the guests were surprised to see me sitting cross-legged in the full-lotus meditation position.

I began to tell them about the amazing benefits I received during my 20 years of cultivation. I was then interrupted by one of the guests. Unfortunately, her comments were influenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s propaganda. 

I was surprised and asked her why she felt that way. It turned out that another practitioner told her that she would suffer retribution if she did not quit the CCP. She did not withdraw and nothing bad happened to her. However, the practitioner who approached her was later diagnosed with diabetes.

I felt bad for the practitioner who tried to clarify the facts but brought bad results instead. If we do not speak to people about Dafa with rationality, we cannot offer them salvation and may even push them away.

Covering the Essential Facts

I stayed calm and asked her to listen to my experience. I learned Falun Dafa before 1998. Practitioners could be seen all over China at that time. I suffered from many diseases and my salary could not cover my medical expenses. However, all my ailments were gone in less than a month after learning Dafa. 

I also explained that Falun Dafa teaches people to be good by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. 

She listened attentively and said, “Those practitioners never told me to be a good person. Nor did they talk about Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, or doing the exercises and achieving good health. Were they practicing the same thing?” 

I replied, “Maybe they were anxious to save you quickly, so they asked you to withdraw from the CCP without taking the time to tell you the reasons.”

The Importance of Quitting the CCP

I continued, “When you joined the Party, you swore an oath to the CCP that you would work hard for it all your life. Now that Heaven's will is to eliminate it, you need to withdraw in order to be safe. 

“The practitioners you spoke to wanted to bring you to safety. In fact, it’s not that Falun Dafa wants to destroy the CCP, this is Heaven’s will.” I also told them about the stone which was discovered in Guizhou with six Chinese characters on it: “The Chinese Communist Party Will Perish.”

All the women understood much better. One of them said, “When I was a child, my dad taught me to do good things. He would volunteer to clean up the street, remove snow, and fix holes in the road. People in the village praised my dad as a good person.” 

I explained that her dad’s behavior was in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Those who follow them in their daily lives are good people, and their deeds will be rewarded. I also encouraged them to repeat the phrase: “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Falun Dafa is good!” for their own benefit. The guests were receptive and also expressed an interest in learning Falun Dafa. 

Staying Rational 

I had a heavy heart when I returned home because I encountered similar concerns five or six times when other practitioners had not rationally clarified the facts to people. It may not be easy for people to believe what we have learned from cultivation. As practitioners, however, we need to pay attention to their feelings and ability to accept the facts. Master Li emphasized many times that when we clarify the facts, we must stay rational and remain mindful of ordinary people’s attachments and ability to understand. 

The Fa-rectification is unknown to even higher beings. If we explain the facts based on our own notions or ordinary prophecies, we may bring people more harm than good. We must guard our behavior based on the Fa instead of what other practitioners saw at their level of understanding. 

We should only follow the Fa. Master is in control. We must also remove our attachments to time and self-interest. Let’s cultivate with pure hearts and fulfill our vows.
