Additional Persecution News from China – October 18, 2021 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Chen Chen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Chen from Qingtongxia City was sentenced to one year and three months in prison on September 23, 2021.

2. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Hongyan Officially Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hongyan was placed under official arrest on September 14, 2021, after being detained for 12 days. She has been held in the Jilin City Detention Center.

3. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Li Yingsheng’s Home Ransacked

Several people went to the home of Li Yingsheng (gender unknown) in Nanjie Village, Liangji Township, Jing County on August 24, 2021. They forcefully injected the COVID vaccine into Li. A few Falun Gong flyers were seen on the bed. The next day, Li’s home was ransacked by officers from the Liangji Township Police Station. Li’s computer, printer and printing paper were confiscated.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Wei Arrested Again

Ms. Wang Wei lives in Liushui Village, Daxue Township, Taihe District. She was arrested at home by officers from the Taihe District Police Department in early October 2021. She is currently detained in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.

Ms. Wang was detained in the prison for one and a half years. She was just released in mid-May 2021.

5. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Guan Kejian received a harassing phone call on September 8, 2021 from Chen Jingang from the Yuebao Township Government in Zhuanglang County, saying the township government officials wanted to meet him. They pressured him to sign a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong, which Mr. Guan refused. He received another harassing call on October 12, 2021, saying someone from the provincial Political and Legal Affairs Committee wanted to meet him. Mr. Guan refused again.

Mr. Liu Yonghong received a call on the morning of October 12, 2021, from Li Jingfeng, deputy of the Zhuanglang County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, pressuring him to advise his wife Ms. Guan Hongping to give up practicing Falun Gong. They threatened that his salary would be withheld if he did not cooperate. Mr. Liu firmly refused.

Several people from the Nancheng Community went to the home of Mr. Liu and his wife Ms. Guan Hongping around 4 p.m. in the afternoon. They pressured Ms. Guan to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused.

Several officers from the Nanhu Police Station and the Chengguan Police Station in Zhuanglang County went to Ms. Yue Ailing’s shoe store around 11 a.m. on October 13, 2021. They insisted Ms. Yue go with them to the Nancheng Community; otherwise they would not leave. Ms. Yue went there and met Li Jinfeng, deputy of the Zhuanglang County Political and Legal Affairs Committee. She was threatened and told if she refused to sign a guarantee statement, her shoe store would be forced to close and her children would not be allowed to go to school.

Ms. Yue’s husband Mr. Bai Xinxi was harassed at his workplace on the same day by three people from the Nanhu Town Government. They insisted that Mr. Bai go back with them, which he refused.

6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Gong Xueliang and His Wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong Arrested

Mr. Gong Xueliang, 84, and his wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong, 81, were arrested at a supermarket in Fangting Town, Shifang City on October 13, 2021. They were taken to the Yonghu Police Station. The police searched them and used a house key they had confiscated from them to ransack their home. More than 60 Falun Gong books and some amulets were confiscated. The couple did not cooperate with police and refused to sign any papers. They were released that afternoon.

7. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa’s Family Arrested

Mr. Qin Songfa was deceived by Xu Jichun, head of the 610 Office in Xiazhuang Town and other village officials, and went to the Appeals Office on October 14, 2021. He was pressured to sign a guarantee statement by the head of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, which he refused. He returned home two hours later.

Five officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station went to Mr. Qin’s home that evening. They ransacked his home and confiscated his personal belongings, including more than 70 Falun Gong books, 30 amulets, 2 wall calendars, a desk calendar, a wall poster, a set of Falun Gong lecture CDs, 2 cell phones, 3 radios, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and more than 10 CDs. The police took all four family members to the police station, including Mr. Qin, his wife, his second oldest daughter, and an eight-year-old boy. Mr. Qin did not cooperate during the interrogation. The four family members were released around 10 p.m. that evening. Mr. Qin managed to get back three Falun Gong books, a radio and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

8. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Xue Yueming Harassed

Mr. Xue Yueming was summoned to the local community office on September 2, 2021. Zhu Yonggang, deputy director of the city Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and police officer Liang Lao, pressured Mr. Xue to sign the three statements, which he firmly refused.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guiyu Arrested

Ms. Li Guiyu lives in Wenzhuang Village, Dongjiuzhai Town, Zunhua City. She was arrested and taken to a detention house on the morning of October 12, 2021.

10. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners from Jizhou District, including Mr. Li Zhijun, Mr. Han Wenbin, Ms. Gao Xiuping, Ms. Han Yongsheng and Mr. Liu Qianli, were arrested recently and detained in the Taocheng District.

Mr. Liu Qianli was taken to a hospital and is now released. The other four practitioners are still detained.

11. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Fuling Detained in Prison

Ms. Zhang Fuling was arrested and sentenced to prison for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison.

12. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Fan Yuping Arrested

Ms. Fan Yuping from Ganguantun Township, Guan County, was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Ganguantun Township Police Station on October 16, 2021. Ms. Fan was detained for one night in the police station. The next day she was taken to the Guan County Detention Center.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Kaiqin Arrested

Ms. Zhou Kaiqin from Qingbaijiang District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Hongyang Police Station in Qingbaijiang District on October 15, 2021.
