Additional Persecution News from China – November 5, 2021 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Lihua Tried in Court—Ms. Wang Jingli Faces Trial

Ms. Wu Lihua from Shuangcheng District was tried in court on October 30, 2021. The verdict will be announced in one week.

Ms. Wang Jingli will soon be tried in the Daoli District Court.

2. [Shanghai] 78-year-old Mr. Yu Rongsheng Detained for Months

Mr. Yu Rongsheng, 78, is a retired high school English teacher and lives at No. 54, Zichang Road 77, Putuo District. He has been detained for many months.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Zhaoyu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhang Zhaoyu, 58, was recorded by surveillance cameras while she distributed truth-clarifying materials in a neighborhood. She was arrested at her home by officers from the Xiaoguan Police Station in Chaoyang District on the morning of October 26, 2021. The police broke the lock to enter her home after she refused to open the door. Her home was ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated, including her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, photo of Falun Gong’s founder, etc. Ms. Zhang is currently being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.

4. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Hua and Husband Mr. Zhao Guiyong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Hua and her husband Mr. Zhao Guiyong were arrested in Tonghua County for distributing truth clarifying materials on the afternoon of October 27, 2021, and their home was ransacked. Ms. Li is being held in the Tonghua County Detention Center. Mr. Zhao is being held in the Changliu Detention Center of Tonghua City.

5. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ji Jianxia Arrested and Detained

Ms. Ji Jianxia was arrested by officer Luo Yongjun from the Maigaoqiao Police Station and officers from the Xixia District Domestic Security Division on September 8, 2021. Her home was ransacked the next day and many personal belongings, including her Falun Gong books and an electric bike, were confiscated. Ms. Ji was fined 1000 yuan and detained for 30 days. She was released on October 8, 2021.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Cai Yufang and Ms. Lin Qiupeng Harassed

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Qingpu District, Shanghai on November 4, 2021. Ms. Cai Yufang and Ms. Lin Qiupeng, who live at Longbai Street, Minhang District, were placed under surveillance. They were followed whenever they left or entered the community.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Meng Kunying and Mr. Wang Junting from Boye County, and Jungai (gender unknown) from Anguo City, were arrested in Liushuang Township by local police officer Wu Shuai on November 1, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The practitioners were taken to the Anguo City Police Department. Ms. Meng’s home was ransacked. Ms. Meng’s family was extorted of 6000 yuan to bail her out the next day.

8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xueyan and Ms. Deng Meijuan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xueyan lives at Nanshangzhuang Village, Lianzhou Town, Gaocheng District. She was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials in Yangtai Village, Meihua Town, Gaocheng District. Officers from the Meihua Town Police Station and the Lianzhou Town Police Station went to her home on November 3, 2021. They arrested her and confiscated printers and some truth clarifying materials.

Ms. Deng Meijuan lives in Nanying Village, Nanying Town, Gaocheng District. She was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong in Zhougua Village, Chang’an Town, Gaocheng District. Officers from the Chang’an Town Police Station went to her home on November 3, 2021 and arrested Ms. Deng, but did not find anything they were looking for in her home.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Yi Under Police Surveillance

Ms. Zhang Yi’s blood was forcibly drawn for a blood sample by officers from the Ganquan Police Station in Putuo District. Because of the CIIE in Shanghai, Ms. Zhang was followed and monitored by two police officers. They followed her to her workplace in the morning and then to her home in the evening.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Case Against Mr. Zhang Tangjiang Submitted to Court

The case against Mr. Zhang Tangjiang has been submitted to the court.

11. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Xiuqin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Ma Xiuqin from Juye County, 67, is a retired teacher. She was arrested in Nancheng District for distributing truth clarifying materials and talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of November 3, 2021. She was first detained in the Nancheng Police Station and was later transferred to the Beicheng Police Station. She is still being detained.

12. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Wang Wenjing Arrested

Wang Wenjing (gender unknown) from Zhangdian District was arrested on the road at around 7:30 p.m. on November 4, 2021. Wang’s home was then ransacked and many personal belongings were confiscated, including Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a printer, a computer, etc.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Xinye and Mr. Liu Xianyong Detained for Over 100 Days

Mr. Chen Xinye was arrested at Yanjia Chicken Restaurant at around 8:20 p.m. on July 22, 2021 when he went there to pick up his wife Ms. Chen Lihui. Mr. Liu Xianyong, who worked in the restaurant, was also arrested that day.

Mr. Chen Xinye and Mr. Liu Xianyong have been detained for over 100 days. Their whereabouts are unknown. Their family members have been threatened and are under constant surveillance.

14. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Qunzhao and Ms. Li Yixiu Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Qunzhao and Ms. Li Yixiu, both in their 70s, were sentenced to two years and two years and three months in prison respectively by the Mei County Court on July 22, 2021.
