Facing Harassment with Righteous Thoughts

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel have recently been harassing fellow practitioners in my village. 

On the afternoon of March 18, 2021, I heard someone open my door and enter my home. In walked the village head, village secretary, and a man and woman I didn’t know. I had previously driven out the village secretary when he came to my home last year. 

I told them to sign their names if they were there to discuss anything about Falun Dafa. The man said they were just visiting, and he asked me if the heating was warm enough. 

I said my heat was turned off on March 15. Then he asked me how many people were in my family. 

I replied he could get this information from the police station. I sensed they felt they were in the wrong. I then said I wouldn't say anything mean. The man nodded and walked out, and I followed him. 

When we walked to my yard, he pointed to my vegetable garden and suggested I plant more green onions because they are expensive.

Afterward, I thought about the young man’s words and realized Master Li was giving me a hint. I needed to change my notions and save people rationally and with wisdom.

On May 14, I needed to go out so I called my daughter-in-law a few times, but she didn’t answer. I began feeling a bit resentful, with negative thoughts constantly appearing in my mind. 

I suddenly became alert and told myself I should not have those negative thoughts and be rational. My mind immediately became clear, and I no longer complained. 

As I was packing up to go out, I heard the village head’s voice outside my apartment. I immediately closed the door and returned to my room. 

I looked within and contemplated opening the door to clarify the truth to him. At this point, the door opened, and six people came into my home. 

I corrected my mindset to see them as people wanting to be saved. Among them, one was the village head, two were police officers, as well as three other people.

One of them asked if I still practiced Falun Dafa. I didn’t answer him directly. Instead, I said, “I used to be very unreasonable and always made trouble for others. After practicing Falun Dafa, I became civilized.”

I then asked his opinion on whether I should keep practicing or give it up? He didn’t respond. 

I pointed out that they didn’t knock on my door before entering my home. Again, they kept silent.

I continued with a story, “In 2004, I returned a driver’s license, ID card, and other items my daughter found at a mountainous area 25 miles away. 

“That young man was so glad and thanked me profusely when recovering these things. I told him to thank Master Li Hongzhi (Falun Dafa’s founder). Afterward, this man reported my good deed to the Public Security Bureau.”

I then asked, “So should we be praised or persecuted?” He agreed: “You should be praised.” 

“You're right!” I replied. “So you should not come again.”

I pointed outside and said to them, “Look at the flowers and plants on both sides of the road. My neighbors pulled out the plants to grow vegetables, but I was the only one who kept them intact. 

My Master told us that plants are also lives and teaches us not to harm the ecological balance.”

I then told them about the CCP’s organ harvesting of Dafa practitioners and how this won’t be tolerated by heavenly principles. I also mentioned the lessons learned from the Cultural Revolution. 

While I was talking, everyone was silent. They understood the truth and left without saying a word.

I told the last officer to leave, “I really hope you will be safe and try to help us as much as possible.” He agreed.

Refusing to Sign the “Zero-Out” Statement

On May 12, 2021, our neighborhood committee director brought two young female officers and a young male officer to my home and asked me to sign the “Zero-out” campaign statement (The CCP launched the so-called “Zero-out” campaign in 2020. The campaign is a concerted effort to force every single practitioner on the government’s blacklist to renounce Falun Dafa.)

They showed me the two documents and said this involved my wife who practices Falun Dafa. I said that when Jiang Zemin (former head of the CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa 20 years ago, we signed this kind of statement but didn’t understand it very well. 

“Jiang Zemin slandered Falun Dafa saying it was a cult and didn't allow us to practice. We later refused to sign any documents.”

I told them that I retired four years ago and began to reflect on some of the CCP’s actions over the past 60 years: 

Mao Zedong described Liu Shaoqi (Former Vice Chairman of the People’s Republic of China from 1956-1966) as a “traitor, insider, and gangster.” Everyone was forced to study Mao's writings. 

Liu Shaoqi and others were later redressed, and Mao’s Cultural Revolution was basically denied. I then pointed out that Jiang Zemin’s campaign to persecute Falun Dafa was even more inhumane. 

“History always changes over time and people should have a clear understanding of this upon reflection. So I suggest that you should reflect and learn the truth about Falun Dafa, then you won’t just blindly follow other officials’ ridiculous orders.”

I said I wouldn't sign the document and wouldn't allow my wife to sign it when she returned. 

“Falun Dafa practitioners are nice people and haven't done anything wrong. Why should we sign any repentance statements? We have no regrets, and we are determined not to cooperate with such things!”

The director said, “Two years ago, your home was ransacked by Domestic Security agents because you printed Falun Dafa materials. Are you wrong?”

“It’s not wrong for Dafa practitioners to clarify the truth by printing pamphlets. You should allow people to tell the truth. I have been reflecting on these things, and you should reflect on them as well.”

My visitors then made an excuse for themselves by saying they were ordered by the authorities. The director then took back the documents and left.

In a dream that night, I saw golden yellow flowers and grass with gold and silver light powder spraying out from them. 

What is even more strange is that when I woke, this scene didn’t disappear, even after I closed my eyes and opened them again.

I realized Master was encouraging me because I clarified the truth with righteous thoughts while facing the CCP's signature campaign. Thank you Master for your encouragement!
