(Minghui.org) A Zhumadian City, Henan Province resident was recently sent to Zhengzhou Prison to serve a 3.5-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Kang Fuchun’s sentence in August 2020 came about seven months after his arrest on January 7, 2019. More details about his case remain unknown at the time of writing.
This is the second time that Mr. Kang, 59, has served time for his faith.
Mr. Kang used to work on a construction supervision team. He was arrested at work on August 9, 2013. The police interrogated him for 40 hours, while keeping him handcuffed and shackled.
Two officers hit him on the face. His teeth became loose afterwards and blood gushed from his mouth. Two other officers forced him to squat several times, each time for at least half an hour. As a result of the squat torture, his legs remained numb for months and his blood pressure increased.
Mr. Kang was detained for 2 years and 36 days at the Zhumadian City Detention Center before being sentenced to three years in Zhengzhou Prison. He was released on August 8, 2016.
Mr. Kang was arrested two more times in 2018 and detained for 6 and 37 days at Zhumadian City Detention Center.
