1. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuqin Faces Trial
Ms. Wang Xiuqin was originally scheduled to be tried by the Rencheng Court on June 9, 2020. The court issued a notice on June 6 that the trial was canceled.
On June 9, many police officers appeared near the court. They arrested four practitioners, who were sending forth righteous thoughts. The police ransacked two practitioners’ homes. The two practitioners were released that day. Now the court issued a notice that Ms. Wang would be tried on August 25.
2. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Suqin Arrested
Ms. Wang Suqin from the Haizhou District was arrested by the Lianyungang City Domestic Security officers and the State Security officers on August 10, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.
3. [Beijing] Mr. Wei Zhenquan and Wife Ms. Hou Shumin Under Residential Surveillance
Mr. Wei Zhenquan and his wife Ms. Hou Shumin from Fangshan District were arrested and their home was ransacked on August 20, 2020. They were released and placed under residential surveillance.
4. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Yang Shuhua from Bolin Town was arrested at her husband’s workplace by officers from the Xiangyang Police Department on August 19, 2020. The officers ransacked her home. Her current whereabouts are unclear.
5. [Gaobei City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Chunfen Displaced
Two officers from the Fangguan Town Police Station broke into Ms. Zhao Chunfen’s home on July 21, 2020. They confiscated her cell phone and keepsakes, and attempted to arrest her. Her husband was taken to the police station and held there until the next day. Ms. Zhao stays away from home to avoid the persecution.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Sufen and Ms. Liu Yuanxiu Detained
Two retired teachers, Ms. Zhong Sufen and Ms. Liu Yuanxiu, were arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong in Hongyuan Town, Jianyang City, on the morning of July 21, 2020. The police confiscated printed materials, keepsakes, watches, and 2,000 yuan in cash.
When they were arrested and pressured for answers. They were slapped and cursed by the police. They were taken to the Jianyang City Domestic Security Division by officers from the Sanxing Town Police Station, and detained for 15 days. Afterwards, they were taken to the Chongzhou City Detention Center and locked up with drug addicts.
Officers from the Zhugao Town Police Station, school officials, and residential community personnel, in Jintang County where Ms. Liu’s household registration is located, went to Ms. Liu’s home and photographed her. They put a lot of mental pressure on her non-practitioner family members.
Officers from the Qingquan Town Police Station, school officials, and residential community personnel, in Jintang County where Ms. Zhong’s household registration is located, went to the detention center to pick them up. Both practitioners returned home on the same day.
7. [Shuangliao City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chu Guiyan Tortured on Death Bed in Prison
Mr. Chu Guiyan was given an eight-year prison term in 2019. He was held in the No. 1 Team, No. 9 Ward, Gongzhuling Prison. He was tied to a torture instrument known as the “Death Bed” for six days by Shen Xudong, political head, and other people since January 12, 2020.
Currently over 20 other practitioners are being held in that prison.
Ms. Chu’s wife Ms. Bie Lihua was given a five-year prison term in 2018. She is being held in the Changchun Women's Prison.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Weidong Arrested
Ms. Wang Weidong was followed and arrested around August 17, 2020. She was held in the Xinglongshan Detention Center. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
9. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Xiufang and Family Member Harassed
One afternoon in early July 2020, the director of the Jiuzhou Garden Community and a residential police officer in the Xiangyang District went to Ms. Liu Xiufang’s son’s home.
They asked him where his mother lived. They threatened him that if he did not tell them where she was, his salary would be suspended. Under threat, Ms. Liu’s daughter-in-law gave in. The police found Ms. Liu. They forced her to press her fingerprints as required by the community on a printed form. They also videotaped her.
Ms. Liu was previously sentenced to three years in prison. She has not fully recovered from the physical and mental abuse. After returning home, officers from the Jianshe Police Station in charge of the jurisdiction where she lives often made harassing phone calls to her son.
10. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jia Jinghe Held in Detention Center
Mr. Jia Jinghe was arrested downstairs at his apartment building in the Heping Residential Community, Ningjiang District. He is being held in the Qian’an County Detention Center.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Yongqin Officially Arrested
Ms. He Yongqin from Wafangdian City was arrested at home by officers from the Pulandian Police Station on July 11, 2020. She is being held in the Dalian Detention Center. The police recently notified her that she had been officially arrested.
Over 30 practitioners and family members were arrested and their homes were ransacked on July 11 and 12, 2020.
12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pang Yanmei Held in Detention Center
Ms. Pang Yanmei was taken to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center on August 19, 2020.
13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fan Ping and Ms. Wang Guanghong Harassed
Three officers from the Wujia Police Station went to Ms. Fan Ping’s home on the afternoon of August 18, 2020. Ms. Fan was asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. They told her if she wrote the three statements to renounce Falun Gong, they would take her name off the list they had compiled. Ms. Fan refused.
On the same day, the officers went to Ms. Wang Guanghong’s home in Wujia Town. Ms. Wang was not at home, and the police left.
14. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Ling Harassed
Three officers from the Beijingzi Town Police Station went to Ms. Li Ling’s home at noon on August 11, 2020. They asked her the whereabouts of Ms. Jiang Li, and tried to photograph her. Ms. Li refused to cooperate.
15. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ten Practitioners Harassed
Mr. He Tianqin, Ms. He Shuhui, Mr. He Shichang, Mr. Wang Shushen, Mr. Wang Shukun, Ms. Ma Yongyan, Mr. Wei Anyue, Ms. Chen Guifang, Ms. Wei Fengling, and Mr. Wang Yukang were harassed by officers from the Longshou Police Department and Jinchuan Police Department in July and August 2020.
Ms. Wang Shushen has been held in the Jinchuan District Detention Center for 27 or 28 days since July 23, 2020. Ms. Xu Jing is being held for 15 days of detention.
16. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Shuhua Arrested
Personnel from the Toudao Police Station phoned Ms. Zhao Shuhua and told her to go to the station at 9 a.m. on August 19, 2020.
After Ms. Zhao arrived, Wang Yongfeng, deputy director, who wanted to turn her case to the procuratorate, threatened her and pressured her to sign a confession which would have framed her. She firmly rejected his demand. Ms. Zhao returned home that afternoon. The police told her that she had to go to the police station again at 9 a.m. on August 20.
On August 20, Ms. Zhao received a phone call from officer Yue Bowen. She was told to go to the police station at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Her family got a phone call from the police station at around 5 p.m. They learned that Ms. Zhao was arrested. Because of her arrest, her mother's debilitating condition recurred, and she cannot take care of herself.
17. [Zigong City, Sichuan Province] Police to Turn Cases of Ms. Yang Ming and Ms. Luo Changhua to Procuratorate
Ms. Yang Ming and Ms. Luo Changhua were arrested by officers from the Ziliujing Police Department on February 27 and 28, 2020, respectively. After their family members signed the bail documents, they were released on bail for one year.
Officers from the Wuxing Street Police Station are working on their cases, which will be turned over to the Zigong City Procuratorate.
18. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Xuchang City 610 Office, Feng Yu, political head of the Weidu District Domestic Security Division, and other officers broke into Ms. Fan Jinzhi’s home in the family quarters of the Woolen Mill and ransacked the place at 4 p.m. on August 17, 2020.
Ms. Fan, in her 70s, her daughter Ms. Jia Lina, and her 7-year-old granddaughter were pushed into the police car around 6 p.m. They were taken to the Wuyi Road Police Station.
The police returned and ransacked her home again. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, audio players, and cell phones. The police interrogated them and released them around 1 a.m.
Ms. Li Qiuju’s home was ransacked by Feng Yu and other officers in early August 2020.
Four officers from the Dongcheng District Police Department ransacked Ms. Li Gaiying’s home on the morning of August 10. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and audio players.
Several officers ransacked Mr. Wang Xinsheng and Ms. Huang Jihong’s home on August 14.
19. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
In July and August, officers from the Chenghe Police Station ransacked several practitioners’ homes and harassed them.
Mr. Mao Xingyue was held in custody for one day.Ms. Dai Chuanhua was harassed five or six times. Around July 22, she was harassed at home three times.Practitioner Sui Mingchun was harassed at home several times.Ms. Sui Mingying’s previous home and current home were both ransacked. The police also photographed them and told a family member to sign paperwork.Mr. Xue Feng was harassed at home.Mr. Wang Mingzhi was harassed at home.Mr. Tian Linhu got 7,500 yuan back after the police took 10,000 yuan in cash from him.Elderly Qiao’s spouse (over 80 years old) was harassed, and their home was ransacked.
20. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yuqiong and Another Practitioner Held in Detention Center
Ms. Li Yuqiong and another female practitioner were arrested when they distributed Falun Gong materials on downtown streets on the morning of August 20, 2020. They were interrogated by the Domestic Security officers at the Zhenjiangsi Police Station. Both practitioners were taken to the Suining City Detention Center that day.
21. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Wenyan’s Pension Suspended
Mr. Yu Wenyan’s pension was suspended by the Social Security Bureau.
