(Minghui.org) Five Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, residents are scheduled to stand trial on September 11, 2020, for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Wang Deyou, Ms. Wu Jinyan, Ms. Dai Guiqing, Ms. Feng Jingqiao, Mr. Zhuang Zixue, and Mr. Teng Yiquan were arrested in January 2019 for distributing Falun Gong-themed Chinese New Year paintings (a traditional wall decoration that usually bears auspicious and festive phrases). All of them were shortly released on bail.

Cao Fengsen, the director of the local Domestic Security Office, made several attempts to take Mr. Teng to the detention center, only to be rejected each time as he failed to pass the physical examination required for admission.

The Huanghua City Procuratorate indicted the practitioners on September 3, 2019, and forwarded their cases to the Huanghua Court.

Five of the practitioners recently received a notice to appear in court on September 11. Mr. Teng’s case was put on hold, and he was exempted from attending the hearing due to his physical condition.
