(Minghui.org) I came across a gentleman in his 60s the other day. He asked me for directions to the local bookstore. I told him how to get there and initiated conversation.
“You must enjoy reading, and I have a book you might be interested in.”“Like what?”“It is regarding the persecution of Falun Gong.”“Oh, great! Can you help me to find the book Zhuan Falun?”“How did you know about Zhuan Falun?”
He became visibly moved and said, “You see, I am in my 60s, and I've had trouble sleeping since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of treatment and medication, but nothing really worked. I was miserable until I picked up a brochure about Falun Gong a few weeks ago. The brochure said that reciting 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good' will improve your health and safeguard you when you are in danger. So I heeded the advice to recite the phrases, and in only a few days my insomnia was gone! It was amazing! I knew this practice is extraordinary, and the brochure mentioned the book Zhuan Falun, which is why I am going to the bookstore to look for it.”
I told him, “You will not be able to find that book in the bookstore. As a matter of fact, you will not be able to buy it anywhere in China. Since the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, they destroyed all the books on the market and didn’t allow the public to find it. If you are really eager to find the book, I can give you a copy. Just wait for me.”
I hopped on my bike and went home to fetch the book. I quickly returned, and he was there waiting patiently. I said to him, “This book is precious beyond value, and all Falun Gong practitioners cherish this book greatly. After you finish reading, you may keep it if you want to continue reading. If not, you may return it to any Falun Gong practitioner.”
Much to my surprise, he raised his right hand and swore, “I promise I will cherish this book. I will never give it to anyone else.”
