(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 35 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Cheng’e Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Lu Cheng’e from Yanzhou District was arrested by officers from the Yanzhou District 610 Office in October 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Dafa books, audio players, printed materials, paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, and other personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Lu was taken to the Jining City Detention Center, but the officials refused to admit her because of a tumor in her abdomen. She was released on bail.
Ms. Lu was arrested and taken to the Liangshan County Court in June 2020. She was secretly tried on June 18, and was given a one-year prison term. The verdict stated that she would be under residential surveillance for 6 months, until December 16, 2020. Instead she was taken to the Jining City Detention Center on July 2.
2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Head of the Qiqihar City Domestic Security Division and over 20 officers from the Criminal Police Division of the Kedong County Police Department arrested over 10 practitioners in Kedong County at the same time past 6 a.m. on July 20, 2020.
Among those known to have been arrested are: Ms. Li Jinghua, Ms. Ding, Mr. Wang, in his 80s, Mr. Wang’s wife, and Ms. Wang Yuheng.
Ms. Zhang Xiujuan and her sister Ms. Zhang Xiu’e were arrested. Ms. Zhang Xiu’e was held in administrative detention for 15 days.
All the practitioners who were taken to the police department were released that evening. Their homes were ransacked, a large number of Falun Dafa books, printers, computers, and paper were confiscated.
3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Cheng Zhihong Under House Surveillance
Mr. Cheng Zhihong from Dayi County took the train from Chengdu City to Xichang at 7 a.m on July 31, 2020. At the checkpoint, he was told to go to another window to register. The officer searched his bag, and found Falun Dafa books and printed materials. He was arrested and taken to the Chezhan Police Station.
The police took photos of his belongings, and confiscated them. The police then went to his home, ransacked the place, and confiscated all his Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and keepsakes. He was released on bail. The police told his family to guarantee and monitor him, and he could not leave the city for one year.
4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wu Zurong Arrested
Ms. Wu Zurong, 73, from Feixi County, was arrested and her home ransacked on July 24, 2020. Her non-practitioner son’s home was also ransacked. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fu Lihua Arrested
Ms. Fu Lihua from Tuchengzi Village, Great Wall Sub-district, was arrested at home by the Xigang District police on July 10, 2020. Because she refused to sign paperwork, she is being held in Wafangdian City.
6. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Haikang Detained
Mr. Liu Haikang was arrested at home by four or five officials including Wang Weiwei, head of the Bei’an City Domestic Security Division, and 610 Office staff on the afternoon of July 31, 2020.
The officials ransacked Mr. Liu’s home, videotaped, and confiscated dozens of Falun Dafa books. Mr. Liu was taken to the city police department.
Mr. Liu was taken to the Heihe City Detention Center on the afternoon of August 1.
7. [Beijing] Mr. Chen Chunsheng and Wife Ms. Yu Fang Missing
Mr. Chen Chunsheng and his wife Ms. Yu Fang from Yanqing County have been missing since July 25, 2020. It is believed they were arrested.
8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Pingyu’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Li Pingyu, 66, was arrested by the Domestic Security officers when talking to people about Falun Gong on Taining Street on the morning of September 7, 2019. She was taken to the Fuxingcun Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She was later taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center, and has been held there since.
Her case was turned over to the Hanyang Procuratorate and the court on March 18, 2020.
9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Mr. Guo Chengxue Released On Bail
Mr. Guo Chengxue, 81, from Tai’an County, was arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of July 14, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was taken to the Dongjie Police Station. His home was ransacked, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong and all his Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
Mr. Guo was released on bail for one year. He was brought home around 7 p.m. by his family after they were extorted 3,000 yuan.
10. [Tangshan Ctiy, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Guotai Officially Arrested
Mr. Zhu Guotai from Caozhuangzi Village, Yangguanlin Town, Fengrun District, was arrested by officers from the Yangguanlin Town Police Station on the morning of June 18, 2020. He was held in the Fengrun Detention Center for 37 days. He was officially placed under arrest by the Procuratorate on July 24.
11. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yingchun Harassed
Officers from the Jianye Township Police Station went to Ms. Li Yingchun’s home in Tangjia Village two or three times to harass her in late July 2020. They intended to make her sign the three statements. Ms. Li was not at home. The officers chatted with her non-practitioner husband, and told him to divorce her.
12. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liang Ailing Arrested
Ms. Liang Ailing, retired employee of Lanzhou General Machinery Factory, from Qilihe District, was arrested by Domestic Security officers on July 30, 2020. Her home was ransacked.
13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Minghua and Mr. Wang Changqing Arrested
About twelve officers from the Dalian National Security Department, the Pulandian Police Department, and Pikou Police Department went to Mr. Wang Changqing’s home in Guangmingshan Town, Zhuanghe City, and ransacked the place at 5 a.m. on July 11, 2020. They confiscated a cell phone and other personal belongings. Mr. Wang was handcuffed and taken to the Guangmingshan Police Station. A little after 6 p.m., he was taken to the Pikou Police Department for interrogation with a transcript. He spent the night in the interrogation chair.
Mr. Wang was taken to the Wafangdian Hospital for a physical examination at 6 a.m. on July 12, where several other handcuffed practitioners were being examined.
He was found to have a lung inflammation. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the police could not send him to the detention center. They told his son to pay a 2,000 yuan deposit and take him home in the afternoon.
Ms. Xu Minghua was also taken to the hospital for a physical exam on July 12. She is being held in the Wafangdian Detention Center. Her cell phone was confiscated.
14. [Tianjin] Several Practitioners Harassed
The Ninghe District Political and Legal Affairs Committee previously held a meeting to carry out the persecution of Falun Gong, and launch a so-called “all-clear campaign” aiming at no new Falun Gong cases.
When the police could not find Ms. Yu Wenxiu when they went to the Lutai Street neighborhood, they arrested her non-practitioner husband Mr. Zhang Wenfang.
Among those known to have been harassed are: Ms. Liu Chunqin and Ms. Li Guirong, who were not at home when the police came.
Lianzhuang Town: Ms. Yue Jingfeng, another practitioner with the last name Yue, Ms. Chang Shuyan, Ms. Feng Guofeng (who was not at home), and Mr. Shi Yongsuo.
Dongjituo Town: Ms. Xu Huanrong.
Femgtai Town: Ms. Sheng Ronghua was threatened that her grandson’s college admission would be called into question if she refused to sign guarantee statements; Ms. Liu Shuwen was also harassed.
15. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yuhua from Chengguan Town, Fangshan District, was reported and arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has been held in the Fangshan Detention Center for over three months. Her husband suffers from hemiplegia and cannot take care of himself. He needs someone to take care of him at home.
16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Xiuzhen and Mr. Li Deshan Arrested
Ms. Chen Xiuzhen, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Baicheng Town Police Station on the morning of July 22, 2020. She has returned home.
Mr. Li Deshan was arrested by officers from the Zhugou Town Police Station on July 22, 2020. He was released after his family paid 5,000 yuan.
