Jiangsu Woman Sentenced to Five Years for Distributing Literature about Her Faith
(Minghui.org) A Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province resident was sentenced to five years and fined 5,000 yuan for her faith in Falun Gong on July 8, 2020.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Junlan, 51, was arrested on February 9, 2020 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police put her on criminal detention on February 13 and her arrest was approved on February 26. The Runzhou District Court issued the verdict against Ms. Li months later.
Prior to her latest prison sentence, Ms. Li was arrested on September 13, 2015 for distributing Falun Gong materials and sentenced to three years on December 29, 2015. She was released on January 5, 2018, only to be sentenced again two and a half years later.
