1. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Na Arrested
Ms. Xu Na was arrested at home by officers from the Konggang Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 19, 2020.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xinlian and Ms. Xu Li Abused in Liaoning Women’s Prison
Ms. Wang Xinlian and Ms. Xu Li were locked in solitary confinement by Ai, section head of the Prison Affairs Section, Qiu Ying, head of the No. 1 Ward, and Liu Yu, an officer in the No. 1 Ward, on May 24, 2020. Both practitioners refused to join the training of marching in queues and were thus kept in solitary confinement for 15 days. Both practitioners were handcuffed behind their backs around the clock, even when using the toilet. This physical punishment, if applied for an extended period of time, will result in permanent disability of one’s arms and hands.
Ms. Wang was imprisoned for four years, and has been released. Ms. Xu is still being held in the No. 1 Team, No. 1 Ward, Liaoning Women’s Prison.
3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Kong Fanzhen, Ms. Wu Jieping, Ms. Wang Wenjuan, and four other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Sandongqiao Police Station on July 16, 2020.
Ms. Kong is being held in the Sitaizi Women’s Detention Center. Ms. Wu is being held in the Hunnan No. 2 Detention Center. The facility where Ms. Wang is being held is not known. The other four practitioners were released.
4. [Yiyang City, Province] Ms. Li Aiguo Arrested
Ms. Li Aiguo was arrested by officers from the Heshan District 610 Office. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Yiyang City Detention Center.
5. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shaojie Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Ma Shaojie was given a three-year-and-three-month prison term and fined 10,000 yuan by the Guan County Court in late June 2020. She has appealed to the Liaocheng Intermediate Court.
6. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Peng Xiangjie Harassed
Approximately twelve officers, led by the Dafangshen Town Police Station director, went to Mr. Peng Xiangjie’s home and ransacked the place on July 16, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, and an audio player. Mr. Peng escaped.
7. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Shuhua and Three Other Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Xing Hongshan, Mr. Li Linpu, Ms. Pan Shuhua, and Ms. Tan were arrested at home by several Hunchun City police officers on July 15, 2020.
Mr. Xing and Ms. Pan were each given ten days of detention, to be served outside the detention center. Ms. Tan was taken to the Yanji City for 15 days of detention. Mr. Li has returned home.
8. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Yuqin Arrested
Ms. Wang Yuqin was arrested at home by plainclothes officers from the Dongdajie Police Station on the morning of July 17, 2020. The officers ransacked her home without showing any paperwork and took over ten Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Wang was released.
9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Suyuan Faces Trial
Ms. Chen Suyuan, 73, was arrested by officers from the Lingshan Police Station when she distributed Falun Gong materials on April 15, 2020. She was held in the Anshan Women’s Detention Center. She was recently notified by the Lishan District Court that she would be tried on July 29.
10. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Sumei Taken Into Custody
Ms. Zhao Sumei’s non-practitioner husband, Mr. Pang Hongyong, who is a truck driver, was arrested by the Botou City police while he was driving the company truck in Langfang City on July 14, 2020.
Ms. Zhao was arrested at home by over 20 officers on the afternoon of July 14, 2020. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books and two cell phones. She was taken to the Cangzhou City Detention Center on July 18. Her husband was brought back home by family members on the afternoon of July 15.
11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Lingfang Arrested
Officers from the Nanzhiqiu Town Police Station broke into the barbershop where Ms. Kang Lingfang works, and arrested her on July 15, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and about three to four thousand yuan in cash.
Ms. Kang was taken to the police station, where she was interrogated, forced to write a guarantee statement promising to stop practicing Falun Gong, and fined 8,000 yuan. She was released.
12. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Shi Guanxian Taken to Prison
Mr. Shi Guanxian from Yongkang City was secretly taken to the Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison on July 13, 2020.
13. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jing Fengyun Harassed
The Siping City Procuratorate called Ms. Jing Fengyun on June 7, 2020, to notify her that her case had been filed, and demanding that she go to the Procuratorate.
Officers from the Beishichang Street Police Station went to her home and harassed her on July 16. She was told to go to the police station.
14. [Yongtai County, Fujian Province] Ms. Guo Xiuhai Held in Detention Center
Ms. Guo Xiuhai was arrested and her home ransacked after 7:00 p.m. on July 15, 2020. She is being held in the Minqing County Detention Center.
15. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Shuzhi Detained
Ms. Liu Shuzhi was arrested on the morning of July 18, 2020. She was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center for three days of detention.
16. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Cuihuan Detained
Ms. Xiong Cuihuan, 66, from the High-tech Zone was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Maqiu Police Station on June 3, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
While she was being taken to the city detention center, she was intimidated and stressed. She developed symptoms of high blood pressure and angina pectoris.
She was taken to three hospitals to undergo physical exams. The city detention center refused to admit her. She was later taken to the Nanchang City Central Hospital where she was placed under surveillance. She returned home 15 days later, on June 18.
17. [Tianjin] Ms. Yang Lixia’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
After being arrested, Ms. Yang Lixia was released on bail on March 3, 2020. She has been kept under surveillance, and not allowed to go to work.
She received a notice from the Nankai District Police Station on July 13, 2020, that her case had been turned over to the Nankai District Procuratorate.
18. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Huirong Faces Trial
Ms. Liu Huirong, from Nanren Township, Wugong County, was arrested on August 26, 2019. She has been held in the Qindu District Detention Center, and denied family visits. Her family does not know about her situation in the detention center.
Her family was recently notified that Ms. Liu's first trial would be held in late July 2020.
19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hong Guimei and Husband Mr. Dou Yansheng Arrested
More than ten officers from the Changqing Garden Police Station, Dongxihu District, led by Zhao (director) and Feng (deputy director) broke into the home of Ms. Hong Guimei and her husband Mr. Dou Yanshneg, and ransacked the place on July 15, 2020. They confiscated a set of Falun Dafa books, a laptop, keepsakes, and printed materials.
The couple was taken to the police station. Ms. Hong refused to cooperate with the police, who tried to get her personal information. She was held down by several officers, and her wrist and elbow were injured. The couple was released after midnight.
20. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Yujuan and Husband Arrested
The Jieyang City police broke into Ms. Wang Yujuan’s home in Jiedong District and ransacked the place on July 16, 2020. The police confiscated 5,000 yuan in cash, and videotaped the process. Ms. Wang and her non-practitioner husband were arrested. Her husband was held in custody for ten days. Ms. Wang is being held in the Jieyang City Detention Center.
21. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] 78-Year-Old Ms. Peng Shuhua Faces Second Trial
Ms. Peng Shuhua, 78, was tried the first time by the Xinjin County Court on June 5, 2020. She will be tried for the second time on the afternoon of July 23.
Ms. Peng was arrested by the Xinjin County police on August 13, 2019. She has been held in the Shuangliu District Detention Center for nearly one year.
22. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhao Xiaodong Detained
Ms. Zhao Xiaodong was reported to the police when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Changning District Domestic Security Division and the Xinhualu Police Station. She was released on bail due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ms. Zhao was notified, on June 16, 2020, to go to the police station’s service area to get her bail money back. She was arrested as soon as she arrived, and forcibly sent to get a physical exam. She was held in the Changning District Detention Center for 15 days, and has since returned home.
23. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners’ Cases Sent to Court
The cases of Ms. Chen Liping, Ms. Wan Xiaoping, Ms. Yang Jinfeng, and Ms. Wan Jinlian were sent to the Xihu District Court’s criminal tribunal.
24. [Beijing] Several Practitioners Held in Pinggu Detention Center
Ms. Zhao Junfeng from Pinggu District was arrested and taken to the Pinggu Detention Center on July 14, 2020.
Ms. Jia Fengzhi, Ms. Yue Guihua, Ms. Yue Xiuhua, Mr. Wang Zicheng, and Mr. Liu Fu are also being held in the detention center.
