(Minghui.org) Three Xichang City, Sichuan Province residents were recently informed by the Liangshanzhou Intermediate Court that their motions to reconsider their prison sentences for practicing Falun Gong have been accepted on July 20, 2020.

The court also indicated that judge He Guilin is charge of the cases and that a hearing would be scheduled in the future about their cases.

Mr. Liao Ancai, Ms. Guo Bing, and Ms. Zhang Yi were arrested on January 28, 2015 while reading books of Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The three practitioners were tried by the Xichang City Court on June 30, 2015 and sentenced to three years and fined 10,000 yuan each on December 23, 2015.

Mr. Liao served time at Jiazhou Prison and the two female practitioners were imprisoned in Chengdu Women’s Prison. While imprisoned, all three of them were tortured and subjected to intensive brainwashing designed to force them to renounce Falun Gong.

One year after their release, the three practitioners filed separate motions in early 2019 with the Liangshanzhou Intermediate Court to reconsider their cases and exonerate them. It took one and a half years for the court to accept their motions.
