(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in eight provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shuyun’s Home Ransacked
Ms. Li Shuyun’s home was ransacked by officers from the Gucheng Police Station on the morning of June 28, 2020. A picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong materials, an exercise music player, and other belongings were confiscated.
2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Hua and Ms. Ran Wenfang Facing Trial
Ms. Zhong Hua, in her 30s, and Ms. Ran Wenfang were arrested by officers from the Simaqiao Police Station on May 26, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Pi County Detention Center. Charges against them were filed at the Jinniu Court in March, 2020. They are due to be tried on the morning of July 6.
3. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners’ Cases Sent to Procuratorate
Mr. Zhang Peng, Mr. Wang Yuchao, Mr. Zang Jinda, and Mr. Ma Haipeng were arrested separately between July and August 2019. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Chunhua County Detention Center. Their cases have been sent to the Xianyang City Procuratorate.
4. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Mengqiao Facing Trial
The trial against Ms. Shi Mengqiao was due to be held in the Second Court of the Wucheng District Court on July 3, 2020. However, it was postponed because her information was not submitted in time. A new trial date will be announced later.
Ms. Shi was arrested in February 2020 for distributing Falun Gong fliers.
5. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Xingfeng and Her Family Harassed
Ms. Xiao Xingfeng was told to sign a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong by the Nanfo Village committee. Wen Huanjun, the father of the team leader Wen Caijun of Nanfo Sixth Team, went to her home to deliver the message on the morning of June 8, 2020. Ms. Xiao refused to sign it.
Wen Huanjun returned the next morning with Zhang Youdian, deputy Party secretary of Nanfo Village. Ms. Xiao’s husband and daughter were harassed and threatened. They went to village committee office and signed the guarantee statement on behalf of Ms. Xiao on June 12.
6. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Guo Baojun Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Mr. Guo Baojun from Zhengzhou City was tried via video-link by the Zhongyuan District Court on the morning of June 13, 2020. Mr. Guo has been on a hunger strike for seven months. During the trial, he had a feeding tube inserted through his nose and into his stomach. Mr. Guo is being held in the Zhengzhou Third Detention Center.
Mr. Guo’s son was notified of the verdict, “Verdict (2020) Yu0102 Criminal 4”, by the court on June 29, 2020. Mr. Guo was sentenced to a two-year prison term and fined 20,000 yuan.
7. [Chongqing] Mr. Cheng Jiachuan and Ms. Wang Zelan Held in Detention Center
Mr. Cheng Jiachuan and Ms. Wang Zelan from Chongqing were arrested at around 8:30 p.m. on June 23, 2020, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers took Mr. Cheng home the next day and ransacked the place. They confiscated twelve Falun Dafa keepsakes.
Mr. Chang and Ms. Wang are being held in the Hechuan Detention Center.
8. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Nie Jiajie and His Son Arrested and Released the Same Day
When Mr. Nie Jiajie cycled home on June 15, 2020, three plainclothes officers followed him. They broke into his home and ransacked the place, without showing any identification. They confiscated his cell phone, searched his contacts, and took photos.
Mr. Nie and his son were taken to the Jinchuan Road Police Station. The officers connected his phone to a computer and scanned all of the information on there. They took turns interrogating Mr. Nie and his son, and told his son, “We are from city Domestic Security Division, and can make anyone disappear.” They installed a chip in Mr. Nie's cell phone, so they could monitor him.
The officers forced Mr. Nie and his son to give their signatures and fingerprints. The father and son were released later that afternoon.
9. [Wenshan City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Dong Yunxian Arrested
Ms. Dong Yunxian from Wenshan City was arrested by police officers, agents from the 610 Office and community personnel on the morning of June 30, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Her home was ransacked, and two computers, two printers, Falun Gong books, printed materials, and other belongings were confiscated.
10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yanjun Held in Brainwashing Center
On May 14, 2020, the Hebei Province Public Security Bureau had two people live in Ms. Wang Yanjun home in Huilai County, in an attempt to pressure her to stop practicing Falun Gong. They stayed there for two weeks but failed to make her stop.
The Bureau then replaced them with three others to live in her home. Ms. Wang could only go out for grocery shopping and had to be accompanied by all three people. They demanded Ms. Wang's family pay their 1,000 yuan a day living expenses.
Ms. Wang was taken to the Dahuangzhuang Brainwashing Center on June 30.
