(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in seven provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Chuan Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Luo Chuan was tried via video-link by the Jinniu District Court on the morning of June 29, 2020. The presiding judge interrupted the lawyer’s defense several times and Ms. Luo was interrupted when she made her statement and presented her defense in the court.
Ms. Luo was sentenced to a one-year prison term. She told the court that she would appeal.
2. [Shanghai] Ms. Huang Yonghua Tried
Ms. Huang Yonghua from West Guilin Street in the Xuhui District was arrested by the Minhang District police in March 2019 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was placed in criminal detention and later granted bail as she was in critical condition due to the persecution.
The Fengxian District Court suddenly decided to try Ms. Huang on June 24, 2020, and she did not have time to hire a lawyer. She has not returned home and no one has heard anything about her.
3. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Ying Guofang Facing Trial
Ms. Ying Guofang is due to be tried via video-link in the No. 2 courtroom of the Zhenhai District Court on July 3, 2020.
She was arrested on April 18, 2019, and is being held in the Ningbo Detention Center.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Qi Held in Detention Center
Ms. Chen Qi, 78, from the Hongkou District was arrested by police officer Tang Jun on June 20, 2020. She is being held in the Jing’an District Detention Center.
5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yulan Arrested
Ms. Liu Yulan from Rongcheng City was reported to the police by three young plainclothes officers, who pretended to agree to want to quit the Chinese Communist Party while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on June 27, 2020.
She was arrested and taken to the Rong’an Police Station. The police searched her bag and took cards with information on how to break through the Internet blockade, keepsakes, and a health code now required to take public transport.
The officers called her son and told him that he had to guarantee that Ms. Liu would not go out again, otherwise they would detain her and ransack their home.
6. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Baojun Held in Detention Center
Yin Yongjun and other officers from the Zhangjiying Township Police Station went to Mr. Sun Baojun’s home in Zhangjiying Village and arrested him around June 24, 2020.
Mr. Sun was taken to the Longhua County Detention Center for ten days because he could not pay a fine of tens of thousands of yuan.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Hou Yongchun Held In Custody
Ms. Hou Yongchun was arrested by officers from the Zhangzhen Police Station and the Shunyi District Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 2, 2020. She was held in the police station for three days and nights. Her computer was confiscated.
Ms. Hou has persecuted many times and was seriously injured.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested, Three of Them Released
Ms. Geng Fuxia was arrested at around 4:30 a.m on June 18, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and a computer, printer, Falun Dafa books, and printed materials were confiscated. She was taken to the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center, but they refused to admit her due to her having high blood pressure and a fever. She has since returned home.
Ms. Lu Caiyun, Ms. Wang Xiuhong, Mr. Yu Guoshen, and Ms. Ye Shuping were arrested on the same day. Ms. Ye was released later that day. Mr. Yu was released three days later. Ms. Lu and Ms. Wang remain in the detention center.
9. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Held in Detention Center
Ms. Huang Luanqing, Ms. Chen Meihua, and Ms. Huang Aihua from Puning City were taken to the Jiedong Detention Center around June 8, 2020.
Ms. Huang Luanqing was arrested on December 20, 2019. Ms. Chen and Ms. Huang Aihua were arrested on February 16, 2020.
10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Guixiang Arrested
Ms. Fu Guixiang from the Dongchangfu District was arrested on the afternoon of June 28, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Dongcheng Development Zone.
11. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked
Wang Yunbiao and other officers from the Gucheng Neighborhood Police Station broke into the homes of Mr. Zhao Lehai in Zhaojia Village, Mr. Guo Changting in Beifeng Village, and Mr. Zhao Liming in Zujia Village on the morning of June 28, 2020. They ransacked their places and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and audio players.
12. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Guangyan and Her Son Mr. Wang Xiyao Held in Detention Center
Ms. Chen Guangyan and her son Mr. Wang Xiyao from the Jiangyuan District were arrested by the Jiangyuan police on June 21, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.
The police ransacked Ms. Chen’s home and confiscated a computer, printer, and Falun Dafa books. They also ransacked Mr. Wang’s home and took a computer. Both practitioners are being held in the Baishan Detention Center.
13. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Junxiang Arrested and Released the Same Day
Four officers from the Chengxi Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Junxiang’s home and ransacked it on June 28, 2020. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, audio players, and printed materials.
Ms. Liu was held in the police station until 8:30 p.m. that night before being released.
14. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Jing Xiuqin Arrested
Ms. Jing Xiuqin from Xingyang City was arrested by officers from the Jingcheng Police Station on June 20, 2020. Her whereabouts are unknown.
15. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Fan Shiqiang Missing
Mr. Fan Shiqiang has been missing since late March 2020.
16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Shuqin Arrested and Released the Same Day
Ms. Wang Shuqin, in her 70s, from the Caofeidian District was arrested on June 11, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong and helping them quit the Chinese Communist Party. The police confiscated her bag and took her to the Tanghai Town Police Station.
Ms. Wang was interrogated that afternoon before being released.
