(Minghui.org) I moved to Australia from mainland China in September 2019. A few days later, a friend of mine introduced me to the owner of a company who happened to be Chinese. A week after I started working at his company, I mentioned to him that I practiced Falun Gong and came to Australia because my family and I had been closely monitored in China.
I asked my boss if he had any concerns because I practiced Falun Gong. He said there was no pressure since we weren’t in China, but he didn’t agree with Falun Gong. I asked him why. He said one of his mother’s colleagues who practiced Falun Gong died because he didn’t go to a hospital; he also knew a practitioner who he felt acted unreasonably. I explained the situation with an analogy: no matter how well a teacher does his job, there are always good and bad students. I said that our Master has taught us to live by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but it is up to the students how well they apply these principles. He agreed.
I told him that I used to have a brain tumor, heart disease and other health problems, but I became healthy by practicing Falun Gong. “Really?” he wondered. I said I was living proof. He looked at me in doubt. Since then, I have taken every opportunity to tell him about the persecution and the benefits of Falun Gong.
One day my boss asked me, “You said that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would collapse, but how could that happen? It controls the military and the propaganda.”
I replied, “The former Soviet Union was very powerful, but it still collapsed overnight. The CCP has done so many evil things and killed so many people with its political movements and persecutions. It has killed Falun Gong practitioners for their organs. How can such a wicked party not be destroyed by Heaven? And if it’s Heaven’s will, how can anyone stop it?”
“It’s true,” he said, “My father is a retired cadre. He was persecuted in the Cultural Revolution. I have no good things to say about the Communist Party.”
I realized that my behavior played a big role in forming his impression of Falun Gong. I tried my best to do my job well and measure myself against the standards of Dafa. Many of our customers gave us presents before Chinese New Year, but I declined my share and let my boss give the presents to his kids. He wanted to pay me a bonus at the end of the year, but I declined it too.
One day, I recited one of Master’s poems to my boss. When I saw him the next day, he told me that he’d been suffering from insomnia for the past six months, but he slept soundly last night after reciting Master’s poem. He said he hadn’t slept so well for six months!
Since that day, I have recited Master’s poems to him almost every day. He said he liked them a lot. One day, he said he would have learned Falun Gong from me if his wife hadn’t objected. I told him the time would come with destiny. I shared the Epoch Times newspaper with him every week and recommended he watch NTD Television.
After my boss learned the true story of Falun Gong, he chose to stand on the side of righteousness. He asked me if he could recite “Falun Dafa is good” in times of danger. I said it was the right thing to do. Both of us smiled. I was happy for him.
My boss hoped his relatives in China would have a chance to learn the facts of Falun Gong. He sent some information to his WeChat group, which caused an uproar among his family members. Some people swore at him, while others supported him. He remained calm facing the attacks of CCP sympathizers and reasoned with them using facts and logic. He talked with me when he felt frustrated. I encouraged him to stand firm on the side of justice. He said he was a strong man from Northeast China and wouldn’t be deterred by their attacks.
I eventually left his company for another job, but we are still good friends and stay in touch. We occasionally get together and exchange our opinions. Even though he hasn’t started cultivating, he continues to send censored information to China, hoping to help his relatives and friends.
He has gone through tribulations from his wife and friends. His wife has quarreled with him and warned him that he wouldn’t be able to visit his parents in China because of his support for Dafa. He asked his wife whether she’d stand on the side of righteousness or bend to the CCP’s will. He said he wouldn’t ignore the CCP’s murder of innocent people and asked her to respect his choice. Though his WeChat account is being monitored, he has been bravely spreading the truth.
After watching the movie The Eternal Fifty Minutes, he told me that he believed I had come to his life to tell him the truth.
While writing this article, I received a message from him. He wrote, “You have allowed me to see the evil nature of the CCP clearly and do what’s meaningful for the rest of my life. I’m an ordinary person, but I want to support justice. It’s the only way to live up to my conscience. I’ll be a good person and follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. What you Falun Gong practitioners are doing can truly change people and the world.”
