(Minghui.org) A couple in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, are facing prosecution for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Liu Quanchun was stopped by two plainclothes officers on his way home on March 24, 2020. The officers took him to his residence and confiscated his computer, printers, and 8,000 yuan in cash. His wife, Ms. Shi Qingxiu, was also arrested.

After being held for a day in Yongan Police Station, the couple were taken to a hotel and quarantined for 20 days. They were then admitted first to Yingkou City Detention Center and then to Gaizhou City Detention Center.

The Dashiqiao City Procuratorate approved their arrests on May 19.

This was Ms. Shi’s second arrest in two months. She was previously arrested for hanging up a “Falun Dafa is good” banner. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, she was released after paying a 1,000-yuan fine.
